new way to fish G-land perhaps? shearer?

been thinking about ways to get out the back of G land and fish for GT's on flat days, perhaps this is it.
maybe swap the fly rod for a GT rod and poppers?
the dude has flippers on to get around.
how would those inflatable kayaks go with coming back in over the reef?

Float tube and sharp reef possibly not the best mix.
Earlier this year found a small stretch of rocks five mins paddle in a SOT yak from home which has big kings (can't fish from the rocks, too low, so it's a boat or a yak). Long story short, a metre long king will tow a yak until the king smashes you up. Can imagine a big GT would be hard to stop in a float tube too: tarpon clean fighters so doesn't matter.

hmmm. interesting
been hooking up with kings out an offshore island in the kayak on 6lb bream gear, no chance of landing them, so been thinking might anchor right out from the island and tie off about 10m away from the rocks...using heavy gear and live yakkas or squid..

or get someone else in a kayak to tow me outa there backwards when i hook up on a big one. as the kings seem to pull me back into the islands backwash and waves.

edit... in that vid it looks like he gets a GT at the end

Hiya Marcus no old SOTs at Gland? Maybe if you getting their by boat hire one in Bali and bring with you?
Amazing what bringing a few tough lures with you for the locals can do. They love their fishin. Have fun.

I like your thinking mate but would only do it fishing light.
Iv had big gts towing a 19ft banana boat on 80lb gear. You can get suprisingly big gts fishing light.
Dont think they are as dirty as a king
