I guess the difference with surf brands vs mining companies is that people don't actually need surfwear from a name brand or surfwear at all really. You can go surfing in a pair of footie shorts.

I see they want people in self managed Super Funds to sign a declaration every couple of years saying they understand there is no safety net and no recourse for compensation.

I can somewhat verify Nick's mastery of spelling. I once posted about eating civet, only I spelt it with an s. Nick respoded in a way that educated me of my mistake in a nonhumiliating manner

Was around the time of the flattery thread though. Uppity cnut would probably savage me now

Isn't that the correct spelling? :?

It's the interweeb. Spelling is perfunctory. It's not the Manly Daily.

You got shares hollowed? Bong or otherwise .. ?

Over to you Hollowed.

Out.
Wooly, as i have posted before, no Bong shares-ever and whatever shares I have otherwise wouldn't buy a hairpiece for Nick or a butt plug for his unfortunate little bro- and btw they are not in any shape surf related.

Rockin' Ron, You talking to me punk??, step outside and show me the orifice they shoved the rock in!
Natho, well you want to talk BHP, Hardly Normal etc, well don't let me stop you, what you got for us?

This appeared in Gold Coast Bulletin interesting read, particularly as shares have dropped another 3-4% today.
Shows that Derek was not the problem and was just used as fodder but sounds like he was lucky to get out and take the big cheque.
Will they survive long enough for chopes or then the Euro/Hawaii legs and if so will we get to have a live broadcasts? Bet some people are left guessing re flights and accommodation

No I dont. I have my own super fund and any Fund manager worth his salt would not have had a sheckel in Bongmart for at least twelve months, or longer. Unless they were shorting the market.

Its a dog, its only asset is the fleas or the ability to fleece naive punters from their hard earned for inferior Chinese stock.

Boththe stock market and retail markets have woken up to Bongmarts "Three pillars of Failure".

The three pillars Bongmart fails on are :
A Quality = Shite
B Service = see A
C Price = worse than B.

Bongmart lost its way a long time ago, not a great place to be, heading into a retail recession.

Yeah I don't own any surf industry shares whatsoever, nor ever will as long as I am a journalist writing about surfing.

Billabong's problem is not quality or service, it's global over-investment in retail real estate.

Your read on the company's performance is hopelessly inadequate and is based on your own prejudices. But since you don't have any skin in the game, it doesn't matter eh.

Billabong's problem is not quality or service    (geek) ,
( I think everybody in Australia should where Chinese made clothing and slippers ) - It was all those greedy "merchant" Bankers fault who made the boys invest in retail real estate. They should have listened to me, I told them to enter into novated off-balance sheet leases. I learnt about them in the Library.

Your read on the company's performance is hopelessly inadequate, so what if the share price has been in freefall from 16 to 12 dollars to $1.85  ( and is based on your own prejudices, you have white skin not tanned skin like me and everybody I know :!: , anyways it doesn't matter eh. I've got my comfy Chinese slippers on and I like typing.

Saucy
Good news
Bongmart is up 5 cents ( to $1.91) as we speak. Seems there was a positive reaction to the rumour floating around the market this morning of BBG introducing a new range,
the " Nick Carroll Signature, Slipper " (Made in China)* Of course !

Could be just a rumour but if it maintains this sought of daily gain on the back of increased slipper sales, Bongmart could be back up to 16 dollars in just under a aaaahhhh year...Who Knows? Even more if the range catches on with the lesbian Journo set.

* see post previous page

Bong halted trading today and releasing new shares at 44% discount to raise cash shortfall they still owe after selling Nixon. See SMH link below
So who game to stump up more dosh (you can only participate if you have shares..and I don't) to keep her sailing? Take some balls after seeing share value tank 70% already in a year.
Looks like the saffa that replaced Derek is in panic mode
