Title says enough.
Got some on my neck and ankle and want to get in the water.
Any recommendations?
Humour expected with even a straight answer or two.
I'll save some wit the time and tell you right now I'm not about to try to stretch a condom over my head to waterproof my neck.
I'm off to the pharmacy tomorrow morning to get something.
Maybe a spray on...think they have such stuff.

Had a thing cut out of my foot a while backand several stitches. Went back to the doc a week later to get them out and asked if I could go surfing now. He looked at me and said,'Tell me honestly yo haven't been in the surf this week?"
I at least had the grace to look embarrassed.
Just don't surf near any drains or creek mouths. Or after rain.

Spray on skin/ wound dressing
glue if you're stuck...boom tish.
Btw if you tear them it'll take longer to heal and scar

personally....why did u waste everyones time in the first place if your too stupid look after the wound as directed ( ie stay out the surf)

some ppl save society lot time and money if they just bled death

Thanks for your sentiments Fong.
In fact I'm not planning on surfing.
I've been teaching my daughter to surf during this school holidays.
Been pushing her into small waves in the shories.
Nothing like watching the joy on your childrens faces.

If the biopsies come back negative maybe I won't be bleeding to death.
Just a different sort of path to death.

Keep it sealed by any means necessary......

and keep the thing clean.

I use tea-tree oil as a wash after surfing then use medicinal honey under the dressing.

Google medicinal honey......unlike other antiseptics it aids in new skin growth.

KEEP IT CLEAN.

Best of luck there cuttlefish. I've had oodles of BCC's over the last few years and even if it's "cancer" as long as the docs get to them early'ish then they cause no ongoing concerns. Touch wood I've had no melanoma experiences and trust you won't either.

Melonma is now 99% curable. Just get in early, look for a spreading bruise...

Good to know. After 10 BCC's so far I've been in quiet panic about a possible Melanoma. I'm resting a little easier.

There are some very good sticky dressings around. If the hospital has a shop selling med stuff, should be there. Or try pharmacy. If you can, talk to a nurse. If you know one well enough, he/she might be able to source you a freeby

I've surfed with cuts ect plenty of times. Depends on size of wound and how "flexible" the area is. If small and not in an area that moves alot, just use spray on skin from pharmacist (do multiple layers allowing each coat to dry in between). If in an area that moves alot (and you really need to surf a good swell) use superglue. That might sound weird but superglue is used sometimes in hospitals for specifc cases. But remember it'll last up to 2 weeks and there is no peeling it off.

just pat the wound dry with this



or grab some Tegaderm. waterproof, transparent dressing from any chemist.

Yeah superglue (cyanoacrylate) is a good option. Creates a seal, keeps it together.

I've used it instead of getting stitches a few times, works well.

Good luck with the results, even if they come back bad you will still beat it.

The stitches on my neck were for a sebaceous cyst which was no issue except that it was a "portion of pink, cream,and yellow tissue measuring 12X 12 X 8mm".
Started off as what looked like an innocent blind zit and within a few weeks I had a big arsed hard lump underneath.
When the doctor took it out he's shown me and I've looked at it aghast that that "thing" had just been liberated from my neck.
The one on my ankle was a bcc (first one) and lab reports no evidence of "perineural infiltration or angioinvasion" so not too bad but of course I'll continue my sun smart ways.
