Looking for surf buddy

Post by wjp » Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:31 pm

Hi all,

I imagine this thread will get loads of flame, (not another newbie, water to crowed, kook, etc) but we all start somewhere. I very recently arrived in Manly to work for a year or few from the UK, and I'm looking for a surf buddy(s) to ride with early mornings and weekend (or anyone who wants to meet up for chat and drinks). I'm basically a beginner, but can catch waves and ride the face ok so looking for anyone to ride with.

cheers

Mate, you don't need surf buddies. Just smile and say "Hi" to others in the surf. You'll soon get to know regulars who are at whatever level you are at.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Mate, manly aint the place...you are either born there and are easily spotted by the pissed off look on your face as 1,000,000 german, english, french, dutch and brazillians drop in on you or go over the falls towards you, ruining the place you call home ( and probably cant afford the rent anymore)...or you are a transient back packer that is only stopping there on the way to byron. Surf for the waves and the enjoyment of just being...not chatting like some old mole at the hairdressers.

Hi wjp

I know a guy that would really help you. He goes by the name of iggy on here and a few other names. He has a bit of a personality disorder, and gets a bit excitable at the mention of the word "harlequin" but other than that he is a nice guy.

Just look for a guy out around Maroubra, Bungan, Long Reef who's arms reach down to his knees (long story, something to do with malformed foetus issues in-utero) and introduce yourself, he'll be glad to be your friend.

Pommies don't like oranges.

They prefer scurvy.

Ya pack of bastards

I'd start by dropping the term buddy. Just sounds a bit ghey.

I live at Manly. Just look for the guy throwing massive rooster tails and busting out his fins. Say g'day. I might say g'day back if there's no hot chicks around. 8)

Ya should move to Queensland. They're friendlier up there.
