Re: Calf Cramps
bumping this old thread because I got a bad calf cramp yesterday at Bondi...made the bad decision to try and stretch it out in the water and keep surfing ....result : more gnarlier cramps ..and sore calves today. applied Deep Heat before and cramps dissappeared in 2-3 minutes. Stoked ! try the deep heat afterwards folks

Re: Calf Cramps
Had a ripper last week. After tooling around on this pilates gizmo my wife bought I was going for a swim and as I pushed off the sandbank to dive under a wave I must have torn the little muscle thats just under your calf muscle I was hobbling around for a few days after that. Damn that exercise.

Re: Calf Cramps
I had an interesting conversation with a Bowen therapist who is also a great surfer. He recons that most surfers suffer injuries because they are under tension. As in, paddle out on a bigger than normal day and feel the muscles contract and paddle harder under duress, this has the effect of doping muscles full of blood and cramps and torn meniscus etc. He labelled me as one of them as he repaired a sore shoulder. I thought about it an sure enough my calves would stiffen and cramp when things got a bit iffy, like when there is a bit of swell and its unpredictable and all over the place. He recommended I force myself to be concious of the stress and try to counter it with relaxation and calm in the face of adversity. I have had far less cramping and muscle problem since I followed his advice, combine this with good heathy hi protein diet and I'm on fire, havn't had a cramp for more than a year. My misses does get leg cramps during sex though, maybe I should talk to her about it?
When it gets to this level of self important stupidity I lose interest.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Calf Cramps
i was servicing a lady and i managed to work up a huge glute cramp
(cramp in the arse muscle)
she was basically on the vinegar stroke when i had to pull out, run around the bedroom and then collapse on the floor rubbing my bum.
i still get flack for that to this day.

He mixes it into a deliberate paste, and applies it to his muscles. Liberally.saucy gibbon wrote:how does the cheese or yoghurt assist with the prevention of cramps ?
