I cannot find a freight option that is affoardable. Do you know a way that is?

Hi Jason, Check with roy stewart. He wants one of his boards sent back for the next Realsurf barbeque surfabout. If you included yours with his, I seriously doubt anyone would know the difference. 'Twould be like a pilot fish on a whale shark.
PM Roy. He's got connections.

I would recommend eating a big breakfast and paddling it back.

Get some one to strap a tiny outboard on it and point it in the general direction. Leave instructions taped to the board for whoever may come across it to send it on its way, or to at least contact you and let you know where they found it. You probably will not get it back ever, but there's the potential for a good story.

Hi Steve, There's the FP13 on the North Shore which I'd like to get moving down this way. If it went to your place it could stay with you for a year or so.

Roy

There's a board in Hawaii you could push off and let the currents do their worst.

I'm sure we'd be hearing stories about a ship-killer lurking around the Pacific for years to come.

The lot of you are homosexuals if you don't arrange to get roy's board back to sydney.
Roy, I'm going to Oahu over Christmas and staying with a mate for a week or two.
I can arrange to bring it back to NC in January.

Ah man, that's the choices? Get a board back or be gay?

Well, there goes the human race :P

Hey Offshore, out of curiosity, does your work involve/grant you access to any of the networks of ocean-going monitoring devices that various US institutes have in the water?

sorry dae but, yep, them's the choices: get Roy's board back to Sydenay for the next Realsurf barbeque, or forevermore be considered gaay.
everybody hangs shit on roy about his work; Roy offers a chance to get one of his boards to use to your heart's content and everybody runs and hides behind nana's apron like one of dino's chooks running from a music comp.

We've deployed more than a few ocean monitoring devices: http://cfcc.edu/martech/

I can get more links for you later next week if you want.

Want to tell you again how much I enjoyed your mideast missives, dae.

I'd be up for that Roy, if the NS thing were to happen.

I'd love to have a go on the FP13.

How do the airlines go with the length?

Thanks OS.

Yeah, to be truthful there's a lot of shit being thrown Roy's way. I hope he does sell a board and gets to spend his days doing whatever it is he would do bill-free. As to his surfboards and their abilities, I've no idea and don't remember making a comment on them as a surfcraft (it may be pointed out that I have done so). They are certainly weapons, but all boards are in the wrong hands. Heck knows how this particular one made its way to Hawaii in the first place - I am assuming that getting it back if not bought wasn't a consideration. We could organise for someone to replace a waterplane's skid with the board and get it flown back on the dodge. I like my outboard idea though. We could mount a decent one on a heavy board.

I would throw some money into the hat to get Steve over there and give it a go at Sunset. If Steve can get it back to Aus somehow - well Chuckles has given the ok to leave it with him for a year. I guess he wants it back eventually - it's up to him whether he would ok it to be passed from hand-to-hand to get it a bit of publicity. That may be the best way for it to be actually tested in a variety of conditions by a variety of surfers that will have nothing to do with its creator. It's then open to the mercy of unbiased reviews. Whether Roy could stand that or not is his call.

Oh, and I don't have a Facebook page so can't access that link unfortunately. Are there alternate sites at all? I'll join back up for a look if not.

I'll get you some more links next week.

It's 'cause you're a nice bloke you stick up for him. I think Roy enjoys the barbs a bit. Anyone who enjoys that kind of beard rubbing at them all day long must be a bit of a masochist. Imagine what his wife has to put up with
