Re: Ask Carroll
Well GSTQ, although I do in fact know some epic Hebrew swear words, I feel we should err here on the side of politesse.
These happy Hasidics will only be in your way for a brief time. What you are probably experiencing is the aftermath of the holiday known as Tisha B'Av, or the Ninth Day of Av, which traditionally is seen as a time of mourning for the destruction of the Jewish Temples by the goddam Babylonians and Romans about a million years ago.
Tisha B'Av is a bummer of a holiday and is marked by traditional states of mourning, ie studying the Torah, not having sex etc. But afterwards everyone relaxes and enjoys life, as if to say, "you're not wrecking our fun, you Babylonian ratbags"
I say celebrate with your be-ringleted tormentors! Offer them high fives and perhaps a sip from your hopefully untampered-with drink bottle! After all we are talking about one of the world's most unpopular minorities here. Surely they deserve more than a casual Yiddish version of "fcuk off"!

Happy birthday to ya
Remember the blocking of your cycle route is kind of akin to the Sculpture by the Sea but shorter.

Happy birthday!
But I wonder what your problem is with goofy footers?
If I fessed up, would you stop answering questions?

If he keeps over-riding the swear filter in General Surf Discussion, it won't matter. He won't be here any more.Nick Carroll wrote:Yeah, I don't know who Dougal is.ajohnsen wrote:Fcuk Carroll, is there anything you don't know?

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Nick, offering the hand of friendship would of course be the admirable path to follow. My concern would be that presumably these ultra orthodox fellas are always on the lookout for even the vaguest hint of the coming of the Messiah. If I start feeding the five thousand and generally spreading benevolence they're going to falsely peg me as the Redeemer, and we've all seen from the Life of Brian how that one will pan out.Nick Carroll wrote: I say celebrate with your be-ringleted tormentors! MrMik, truth is I could not give a rat's arse if anyone is a goofy or natural foot. I was very interested in the question for a while, wondering if there was a perceptible difference in style and approach between the two, perhaps as a result of how the brain works or because of cultural differences, but long observation has caused me to dismiss such vagaries, though I do suspect that many surfers - especially those who have started as adults - deliberately opt for natural at the outset, possibly hampering their development in some unspecified way.
But then again, most surfers who start as adults are hopelessly hampered from the outset, so I suppose as long as they are enjoying themselves, etc.

Don't do this to me GSTQ. You know it costs a lot of money to fly to Britain from the, err , Colonies.
Re: Ask Carroll
Happy birthday, Nick. It was my son's 4th birthday today. He got a Spider-Man costume, some Trashies and two cap guns that sit neatly in top quality vinyl holsters. What did you get?
