One more bit of backstory.

Two years ago before I turned 40, I decided the time was now to have a swing at Teahupoo, before old age and other things became impediments.
So I took a brown paper bag, QLD style, and started to put cash into it, as a fund to go to Chopes on. I eschewed the normal vices of life : beer, coffee, clothes etc etc and saved every penny I could.
That was when I became acquainted with the dubious virtues of instant coffee.

In June last year, a coupla months before the trip, our house was broken into in broad daylight.

My wedding ring was stolen, a laptop etc etc and the brown paper bag full of cash.
Gone.
The dream was shattered.
It's nothin in the grand scheme of things, absolutely nothing.

I don't take this, or anything, for granted.

Does Swellnet have an advertising relationship with Billabong? If so, their ad rep should be able to get you in touch with Bong HQ. The guy running media is Johnathan Jenkins. Bong has a partnership with Air Tahiti Nui which may make it easier to get a flight organised.

They can also help you handle accom.

Don't worry folks, I will take a waterproof camera out for each and every surf and will make sure I get a shot of shearer in some sort of compromising position.

This thing is knife edged but like a good run into the GF the momentum is strong (well except for the Saints) so I'm gunna try and ride this wave of support to Tahiti.

I have no such things to look forward to tonight however other than what Mrs Hatchman has cooked for dinner and the two cold beers left in the fridge. However I will be sent to conference on the Goldie in a few weeks, all expenses paid too To maintain a travelling tradition of mine, like I did with my sojourn to Sydney in 09, the first thing I'm gonna do is piss in the hotel sink when I check in. I can think of no finer way to announce to my banana bending brothers and sisters that the Hatchman has arrived!
