You really don't get it do you Roy. Blowing bubbles up the arse of realsurf punters, ain't going to sell you a 528large surfboard. But you sure are spreadin' the word.

Allow me to quote from your 'interview'.......
"However, if I don't sell one at that price I get to continue to collect them, and I really love collecting them. I don't like seeing them go out the door cheaply because then my collection diminishes and I only make a few every year. I love having them and riding them so that's one reason the price is so high."
Cheaply? Fu(k! You certainly hit the nail on the head there! Mate make the price more realistic. You will get buyers. Something around 525large should do it... 8)

Mate, I've thrown you the best offer you will ever get....
woolly wrote:Roy, here's the perfect opportunity to get one of your boards into the 'mainstream'. Have a read of Pridmore's quad father thread, and send one of your boards on an Australian Adventure.

Send to:
Mr. Steve Shearer
Lennox Head
Australia.
...from the Skin Cancer thread.... :|

Steve is a more than capable surfer, and the waves at Lennox are the perfect testing ground for a board of your calibre. Imagine the feedback you will receive! Your chances of flogging off some of your collection will be magnified to the point that you could be a millionaire before the end of the year.

Mate. Seriously. Wrap one in bubble wrap tonight, and send with New Zealand post tomorrow.

Ya gotta be in it to win it, and ya never know ya luck! :D

Toy, you're certainly passionate about what you do. Top marks there.

But I cannot help but think greed is creeping in here. And to use "surfing's greatness" as the reason to charge some poor cnut half a million big ones isnt doing you any favours.

Im sure as my arse points south that you are not owed half a million dollars worth of "free advice" to people about surfboards. C'mon mate.....keep er real.

Well a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do . . .

Thankyou for your comments Mr Fluff. The boards don't need testing. Of course it would be nice to send Steve an FP12 but I only have one at present, and it's MINE.

Geez Roy, as a craftsman, you make attractive artistic works. As a salesman, you make diddly squat.

A proposition.... You ask 528K for your top shelf designs.... How would you like to make 132large by the end of the month :?:

If, if I can flog-off one of your creations by the end of the month, all I ask is a little commission. And after my commission, you receive 132large.

My commission is 75%

What say you Roy.... Deal or No Deal :?:

Remember, three fifths of five eighths of fu(k all, is a bucket full of broken promises.... so really, what do you have to loose :?:

That wooly spinky sping spingity boo!!! is a syphilitic over sexed old perv. Don't listen to anything he says.

Ive taken the piss in the past roy but I have to say they are beautiful pieces of work. Amazing craftmanship.

I must say if you sell one for half a million, congratulations and good luck to ya. Hope you sell a bunch at that price.

I still think your a cantankerous half loon hippy. But you sure know how to sand a bit of wood.

"You say you're taking the price way over the top, how did a value of $528 000 come about?
528 is a Solfeggio Frequency. 528 Hertz. I could've chosen many numbers but to eliminate a lot of possibilities I chose a number that is beneficial to people. (Solfeggio Frequencies are six sound frequencies used to heal."

I personally would have justified the price in terms of materials, design and labor hours, hinting to some sort of margin that you need, but hey :)

Freudian slip? He's a masterful troll, no doubt. And his woodwork impresses me too. However IIRC a professional woodworker came on one of the forums Roy used to troll and ripped his work apart, saying it's good for an amateur but lots of faults and pointed them out. It impresses neophytes like us (well, maybe not you dino) but doesn't really stand up in the scheme of woodworking.

No im impressed. But I know two thirds of fuck all about most things. So I guess my endorsement is no great compliment.

I worded it ambiguously. I meant you're not a woodwork neophyte, with your furniture collecting thing. I didn't mean you didn't like Roy's stuff.

"It impresses neophytes like us (well, maybe 'neophyte' doesn't apply to you dino since you're a fine furniture aficionado) ..."

i.e. I wasn't commenting on your like or dislike.
