checked out the isurus - what did you pay for it?
Have been through two patagonias. Found them good for a month - then they leak. First time they sent me a brand newie - second time they repaired. Still leaks and apparently they are meant to allow water in so the wool can do its thing. I find they flush around the lower back. No good in the the depths of winter to keep getting flushes down there. Damn shame because i like what they are aiming for and i dig the all black - hate logo up'd wetties. That said, i have a mate with one - third season for him - no issues....
would be keen to try again at those prices!

Didn't someone say, a few pages back, that the Patagonias were a bastard to get in and out of?

Mate onto my second season with one, not a leak anywhere. I've been pleased with it, only criticism is the neck is cut a little low and you can get the odd flush.

You might be referring to me. They're fine to get in and out of. It's the paddling where it's a problem. They just feel stiffer than an F-bomb or Dawn Patrol (the only two wetties I can compare it with). I have the Patagonia R2.

I can say it's a super warm wettie. I haven't had any leaking at all to date. Nor have I had any flushing. It is a bulky wetsuit though and it feels more restrictive.

Saw someone out in the surf today with hood, boots and gloves.

Tell you what though, that Full Thermal Boss is vey comfy.

I took the new R2 for a couple of surfs the last few days. yep its significantly warmer than my aging F bomb, and yes the flexibility is also a fair whack less....

Perhaps its too much wettie for sydney +/- 200km?

I paid just over $500 for the 232 delivered to the door. More than i wanted to pay but thought I'd take a gamble with a premium suit.

The quality and feel is like no other steamer I've worn before. It is a bit tight and a little stiff compared to my year old Cypher, but it does seem to be loosening or moudling around me. The lycra is super fine and it holds very little water. The yamamotto limestone neoprene rubber seems dense and very bouyant.

I am two seasons into the 4/3 and 3/2 versions of this suit:

and they are as warm as the first time they were worn. The 3/2 version I can wear in Tas from late September through to end of May - it would be plenty warm enough for most northern climes in winter.

They way they are going I am expecting up to 4 seasons out of each them....which would be a first for me.

This model has stitching in the seams under the 'liquid' seam seals. Doesn't affect the warmth or flexibility any, but does seem to be giving the suit a longevity that suits with the same rubber and no stitching are not matching.

Anyone out there got an opinion of Quik wetsuits, in particular the quality of them these days? I'm looking at the Fuseflex & Cypher (both 3/2 steamers), but remember hearing a few years back that the quality was pretty shithouse.

I got my Bos steamer a couple of weeks ago. Obviously, longevity is untested. Obviously. It's a 3/2.5 and replaces my old Buell 3/2 that felt more like a 2/2. There is marginally less flex. Marginally. But, the way the panels are cut means that it feels great across the shoulders. With a titanium lining it slips on sweet as a nut. The chest entry is a bit more challenging. A bit. Overall, the thing feels much more robust. I like it and wish there was some surf. Even if I didn't like it I would wish for surf today.
