Nah, all I've had are one sided. RC, Need & Excel. The list is in order of entry/exit ease

Still can't imagine fully detachable being enough for me not to revert to back zip. I'm sort of spewing my Xcel is going to easily last this winter

Steve, while chest zips are way more mobile than back zips, the zip free is another level again, I found last week when I wore it for the first time.

Plus for the thousandth time there is no extra hassle. And even if there was (which there isn't), even if it took another three seconds, what's three seconds when I've just been surfing for three hours?

Granted I haven't tried putting them on back-to-front ...
while the extra mobility from a chest zip is arguable, I'll at least grant that as a possible reason. But I'd bet a small fortune you'd log more paddling miles in a session at Lennox Point than a Perth groyne.

But the extra hassle in getting in and out seems pretty universally recognised. Both on here, and in the real world.

The wrestle means the seams get stretched, the wetsuit doesn't last as long before it starts to leak and so on and so forth. That also seems pretty well recognised.

I'm surfing alot at the moment, and some of those surfs are long and some are short. I hate if I have a short surf and i have to spend time wrestling in and out of a wetsuit. Especially a wet, wetsuit. Thats a giant pain in the arse.

I'm fairly certain we know each others position on this now.

Sorry don't want to read back too far.
Needs wetsuits, seem cheap. Any good. True to their size chart?
Looking at 2/3 steamer.

I had a Need 3/2 steamer a couple of years back. Wasn't a fan. Medium seemed a bit on the large side IMO. As Salty says, probably in the lower to mid-range of a name brand as far as weight and flexibility. I picked up a top of the range O'neill at their sale for around the same price. You can really tell the difference.

Maybe they've improved since then.

I have a Need 3/2 steamer from last year and it's just terrific, I am a near perfect M in typical full suits and this one fits just fine. It's not as jizzy as a top end Rip Curl zipper less thing but it's not giving me any trouble.

I will report back in July after vic rd trip about the need 4/3. Initial impressions are a good fit for the M which I am normally. And the boots fit well too.

My ag47 has less jizz on it than my old cypher. Not sure yet if that's good or bad as I haven't surfed in it yet
