Fcuk Mik what are you on about? I'm not happy suits only last two maybe three seasons, but what can I do? grow my own neoprene?MrMik wrote:If you are accepting to get only 2 seasons out of a suit, and then buy another one of that brand again, they have turned you into a consumer. Or, you might have walked along just like you are supposed to.pinhead wrote: If I'm only going to get two winters out of a suit then a $200 Need suit makes more sense than a $500 brand suit.
Are the other "Realsurfers" accepting this sort of bullshit?
To buy a new wetsuit that costs more than the average annual wage in Africa every couple of years?
Or are you that abominable kind of surfer/consumer who buys boards that fall apart within weeks (or months at the most), but as long as it's OK for you that's just fine? Get the best, immediately, toss it on the scrapheap, get the next?
Don't worry about the big picture?

It must be pretty good as they always seem to be interested in buying stuff.MrMik wrote:I must declare that I have no real idea about the average annual income in Africa, but I bet that I'm right.
If I loose, I'll brew the beer to go into the drone for the 2-wave-holddown challenge at Steve's place.
It'll be mean....
Everything I've tried to sell on gumtree seem to attract prospective buyers from Nigeria who are very prompt in sending me an email confirming the money has been put in my paypal account & will be released as soon as I deposit the money for freight into their western union account.
That keen that this happens even before I've agreed to sell it to them.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Just started wearing a new steamer, a peak, not sure what type...but the legs fill up with water.
This seems to occur on some steamers and not others for me...but I dont know why...whats your theory?
Anyone ever tried to fix it...thinking of putting holes near the bottom of the legs...on the back...similar to the holes many wetsuits have in the middle of the back to drain water. What do you think...destined for disaster or is there a good way to do it?

So, that whole "walk on water" thing was a scam, huh?Almighty God wrote:Just started wearing a new steamer, a peak, not sure what type...but the legs fill up with water.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Did a bit of research online and found a good idea...I tried it on an old wetsuit first, suitably impressed, so I gave it a go, very reluctant to do something like this on something brand new...but alas...3 surfs in and it works really well...so farMr Percival wrote:Well I'm with you AG, I hate em. Some just seem to have really tight ankles. Let me know if the hole punch works, I'd be worried about tears.
Leggy tucked under the wetsuit works for one leg.
Metal knitting needle...big giant long one...about 4mm diameter
Heated it with gas...the tip and 100mm or so down the shaft
Poked the needle through in the desired locations...left the needle in for a minute or so...the heat melts the wetty material where the hole has been made, sealing it...hopefully permanently

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
hmm...about three inches below where I put a 4mm hole...there is a 2-3inch hole...so I can put my foot through...pretty sure a tiny bit of water gets in through thatLegion wrote:You're insane. Holes let water in too, right? Brand new wetty with guaranteed cold legs. Might as well have got a long arm springy.
