Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Quik are selling these at knock down prices.

What are the odds of me getting my money's worth of wear out of it?

I've got 2 front-zip wetties that've literally fallen apart at the chest seams in the past couple of weeks. So I got some glue, but I've also just ordered a Need essentials suit. Service has been top notch so far - had a problem with the ordering process last night, but I've already had a returned phone call and the suit is ordered.swvic wrote:Mate has just let me know about this if anyone is interested

Know it doesn't help most, but you can try them on at Dos Primos in Gilbert St, Torquay
The bloke used to work for Qicky in the wettie area. They come from the same factory as the top quiky wetties with all the same tech but he has tweaked a few things to make them individual and he claims a bit better
4/3 $180 3/2 $160
Know where my next wettie is coming from
I'll pass on some feedback - thanks for the heads up.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Cheers - I'm finally managing to wear out my wetsuit enough to have a seam come apart. One of the benefits of not surfing constantly I guess, the wetsuits last for many years.
Re: that wetsuit discussion...
I recently got a kit made by ocean and earth, it has some liquid seal in a tube and large piece of iron on patch material. The seal is very runny and this is actually good as it seaps into the tear and eadheres to everything, works well. havn't tried the patch yet.
When it gets to this level of self important stupidity I lose interest.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
the need essentials suits look interesting and obviously well-priced. Do they have the nice "comfort" lining like the brand names?
Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Not on the 3/2 I bought

Sent the quikky back for warranty and ordered an O'neill Pyro tech. It arrived yesterday overnight from their online store, good service. It cost $370.00, slightly cheaper cos it a 2mm. This thing looks like a work of art next to the quikky, technobutter is the bomb! Wore it this morning in rainy offshore 4ft conditions and I rekon its not only warmer and more flexible, but cost $100 less.

I'm a big fan of O'Niell wetsuits. Despite the recent bungle I had with the seams needing a replacement suit, its still the best wetsuit maker in my mind.
I'll try Adelio next though, they look great quality for the price and I like supporting the litte guy.

Great product concept. If they don't fall apart I'm getting one.Morgan The Moon wrote:I've got 2 front-zip wetties that've literally fallen apart at the chest seams in the past couple of weeks. Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Seems the sizing for height has been changed a little on the NEED essential website. Could have been a typo previously as the heights look much more inline now, however still big differences in the weight range .

I was a fan of the O'Neills - great fit, but I'm sold on the NEED suit.
I didn't want to get a chest entry suit - it always takes a month or more to stretch the neck so I don't wanna gag during a session, but this suit had no issues. One of the best fits I've had. Longevity is obviously yet to be tested.

hey Morgs I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one of those Needs.
Could you give us a quick review mate when you've had it out in the surf?
cheers.

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
On the Back vs Chest zip preference, I have a very short neck and quite a lot of muscle built up in that area which makes the back zip option very uncomfortable as the extra thickness of batwings, Velcro and flaps etc interferes with my head lift. Hence a preference for chest zips, I even have a short john with a chest zip! Anyone else have this problem?
Hmmm, just read that back...straight to the tard thread spork.
