There is a store here in Tas that is 'global' price matching wetsuits.

Not sure what postage charges might be to Mainland Aus but brand new e-bombs are going for $385

Roughly 10 surfs in and my 2mm billabong short arm steamer is leaking all over the place. Treat it like its a prince too.

No wonder those guys are dissolving.

i had a new billabong tyler warren wettie i got last week for a back up through the winter - wore it once and the black fabric over the neoprene lifted off the guts. I am currently waiting on my refund. Never buy billabong again.

There's been a bit of talk about the restriction on Ripaquikbong sales to Oz from the UK.

I'm guessing the Animal suits won't be affected in the same way, being a UK brand etc.. A friend of mine has a few of them now and really like them. Pretty good prices....

Just a thought....

I'll ask again...

Has anyone got any experience with Triple-X? Australian company. Sale price of $325 for the top-of-the-line steamer.

Surely, if you're looking beyond the main players you'd consider a product from a local company.

I'm really surprised with the amount of people generally unhappy with ripquikbong suits that pretty much the majority still wear them in oz. stacks of other suit brands that are well respected overseas that you can get for half the price.

I can see why guys in southern states want the best and warmest wetsuits but in my experience if you are north of Eden then really you just don't need the top of line. A bit like driving a 5 year old car. Sure doesn't have all the flashy bits but often that model was pretty close to the functionality of the newer suit.

My suit cost $120 off eBay, is all black so most people wouldn't even know it is not brand name, is warm as the day I bought it and has no real decay of any type. Full sealed gbs taped. If I'd known it would be so good I would have grabbed a few more of them at the time. Search around there are easy equals. I reckon too many guys are just caught up in the brand name pressures.

I've never had a problem with ripcurl. This is my 2nd billabong. Never got a full season out of either.

... $600.00 later.

I think I'm justified in knocking out merchant if our paths ever crossed. As you would any thief.

My current bong steamer is falling apart and has threads hanging off it everywhere. Big tear in the back of the leg from where my knee strap wore through. Might turn it into a springy.

AJ, never seen one in the flesh, but a mate who used to work in a shop that sold them said they are okay suits and good value, but they are just like a mid-range suit from the big guys the year before.
He said a Gooru or something similar was a better buy.

Mid winter (ie now), around 20-21 deg. Mid Spring, around 17-18 deg.
