Well I'm not convinced with all that water weighing it down, I did assume we were talking of the ripcurl hanger, I think I'll listen to to the people that handle the warranties. It's a bit of an effort taking it out of the bucket in the car between surfs, so I wouldn't use a hanger anyway, nothin like putting on a wet smelly wetty at dawn on a drizzly day, the day can only get betterGrooter wrote:No shit?spork wrote:Rip curl supply a round shoulder shaped hangar with their wetty, ask for yours when you buy one.
I didn't get one when I bought my E-Bomb on line, but I actually have always used a rounded shoulder anyway.
Looks like this
You'd be an idiot to use a plain wire coat hanger on a wetsuit

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Anyone tried a seventhwave kiwi wettie? Jap rubber and custom made. I must admit, i've used two wetties with yamamotto rubber and they are pretty darn warm and comfy.

Very important determinant for a wetsuit. Has the Patagonia R2 got a key pocket?
I have a cel long John and it has no key pocket drives me nuts having to put a fat key in the leggie. Won't fit tightly around the ankle. Give sme the shits.

Glam, the key pocket is in the chest area. I like it, just wish it had one of those tiny cords attached to the wettie for extra security.

Hi All,
I live in Tassie and recently got my hands on one of the Oneill 4/3m wetties with their new so- called 'Technobutter' neoprene.
It's a chest zip and it's so flexible it feels like wearing a 3/2m wettie. It's awesome. Warm as toast, if toast were a wetsuit.

C-skins are pretty good and share some similar designs to Xcel. If you can try one on and it's a good fit then you could be on a winner.batoes wrote:thanks legion, i did read they were fairly stiff too. Feeling a bit the same way after taking some time examining the pic above >><<

IMO, doesn't matter what bells and whistles a wettie has, if it doesn't fit right then you may as well wear a sack...

Re: that wetsuit discussion...
anyone know where I can order a cskins 5/4/3 "react" from?
There's a place in the uk that can do them, but it takes 2-3 weeks. They must stuff it into a jar and let it find its way here in the currents.
For $200 they seem like the best wettie around ... a few guys have them here and swear by them. Good enough for me.

Didn't you say you wouldn't be wearing 5 mm of rubber Dose of reality brought about by dropping boards in carparks
Have you got that hooded vest thing? Swear a 4/3 is enough with booties and that particular wonder of warmth. Water and wind temps similar here to Tassie and you'll be fully acclimated in a month or so

Nah, I'm not sure vicco is even close to what we get here Vic ... been speaking to guys around the place. In august when the ice melts and runs off into the ocean, they're in 5/3's, vests, booties & hoods. Anything less, they reckon you're kidding yourself you'll be getting wet. You don't see the sun in august much either, apparently.swvic wrote:Didn't you say you wouldn't be wearing 5 mm of rubber Dose of reality brought about by dropping boards in carparks

2 years ago we had snow on the beach in August/ september.
I got photos of my car iced over and it's only june. 8 degrees y'day and I surfed in a 3/2 ... after 1/2 an hr, shit gets real out there. Muscles just stop working. It's pretty wild.
Re: that wetsuit discussion...
Fcuk, Braithy, I ditched the 3/2 weeks ago, booties last couple of weeks and have even donned the hooded vest once thus far
No wonder your muscles only last half an hour. At least a modicum of podge required to still be in a 3/2

Yeah ... all this wood chopping, dog walking and surfing doesn't leave much podge either.
Imma little glad it's flat today.
