so token thread about the contenders and inevitably dashed hopes of the rest.

who will do well?
what will the waves be like?
how many articles will Stab write about gold coast nightly goings-on?

you know how it works

ok fine i'll begin

reynolds could take this event. the swell will be 3-4 foot thurs fri this week and he will bake if it stays clean or gets messy.

same for slater, i'm guessing he will want to make amends for last years unorthodox board choices.

your thoughts pussies

the endless din of the hammers fall
crowds gather as the spruiker calls
side show ally, freaks and clowns
run for the hills, the circus is in town
with the hangers on and the hangers out
true believers and those who doubt
mister bigs-n-nobody's at all
gathered in droves for the curtain call
flags, banners, strumpets and horns
endless nights with hungover dawns
the camera flashes, the journalists write
in the arena gladiators fight
mano a mano the combatants compete
spectators swoon, bleating like sheep
the dust settles as the fat lady sins
losers have lost winners have grins
off go the lights its the end of the show
last drinks gentlemen its time to go
thanks for coming to the Quicky Pro.
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.

Would like to see Owen Wright do well.
IMO he has the competition side of surfing down-pat. Seems to know how to surf for the judging.
As long as it doesn't turn out to be a 'Cooly kids' take over. Surely someone from another part of the world can surf it as good as them.

It'll be interesting, I'm really excited to watch and see...

I'm looking forward to KS possibly ripping on a Wizard Sleeve like the youtube video of him at Rincon, and maybe some Dane Reynolds doing some progressive stuff...
