WTF have I found here?
The inlaws were cleaning out the holiday house and pulled this little number out from under. No logos, no signature, no dimensions. Roughly about 6ft x 22 x 3. My guess is late 70s as I think it started life as a single fin and someone tacked on a couple of squared off early 80s fins to make a thruster.... Love to know other peoples thoughts.
BTW - I have surfed it and it catched everything but turning is a differnt story.... middle fin out you can get a bit of performance but is more a cruiser...

I consulted a couple of mates and we determined that it's definitely a surfboard that you found - hope this clears things up a bit.

Nice wax job too - very precise!
Could be a home-made jobby by the looks.

^^^^^
all I was going to say was that back then there was a lot of DIY home made going on ... almost everyone had a crack at making a board at some stage ... some people also just had a crack at shaping and then getting them glassed somewhere so like ricky said it is probably a DIY ...
I have nothing particular to add but was thinking about making a serious comment as well ...RickyG wrote:Could be a home-made jobby by the looks.

Looks a little bit like a Mcgriggor to me or a Crozier.

Yeah, might slap the dings over with a bit of solarez and continue to surf it next time there are some fun waves at the local. Nothing like keeping your body and mind guessing....

Re: WTF have I found here?
I'd rip the side fins off and leave it as a single fin.
No idea why, I just would.

Re: WTF have I found here?
Maybe I could! I'd knock out the existing fins, get FCS plugs on the side and get really experimental..... You got me thinking now.....Animal_Chin wrote:I'd rip the side fins off and leave it as a single fin.

Re: WTF have I found here?
Just need to get my hands on some FCS plugs. I know shops don't sell them.... Might try hitting up a few local shapers, see if they have a 'spare' set.

Re: WTF have I found here?
Stick it on ebay. Call it an early Simon Anderson prototype, start the bids at $1,000. There's a sucker born every day.

More interested in finding out more about it than earning $50 bucks for selling it.silvynn wrote:Stick it on ebay. Call it an early Simon Anderson prototype, start the bids at $1,000. There's a sucker born every day.
Just thought someone might have a bit of info on the era, shaper (or one they copied) and idea behind the design. Prid and Em have given a bit of a heads up. Any other theories are welcome.
