lucky the costs blew out ... imagine if they only spent the original budget ... it would only be 2 second rides in 3 inch dribble rather than 5 second rides in 6 inch dribble ... clearly a well spent 3 million pounds ...

I used to live about five minutes from 'bosvegas' (boscombe)
the reef was a complete joke from the start.

It took several years and many bummings from council officials to finally get the go ahead, but the problem is that boscome really only receives short range swell generated by local storms that produce choppy storm affected surf.

rarely does a low pressure system track low enough in the atlantic for a decent swell to wrap around the bottom of cornwall and up the english channel.

The reef was based on bingin in bali, which receives quality swell, and not the crap thats dished up in the english channel.

they should of built it in cornwall/ devon.

They should have just pumped sand out of the nearest river and dumped it on the nearest point

funny you should say that, cos theres a point under 5 km's away from boz called Hengistbury Head.

all it needs is some sand / fakey reef to link up the end of the point to beerpan rocks reef and it would be a half decent break.

its walking acces only too. would have been much better.
