Starr Surf Skis!
Seems to be some impressive foil and rocker built into those hulls.
Basically two neat blanks sprayed with fibreglass from a bunnings paint gun.
I still class wakeboarding as pure arsehattery but did read something interesting recently about a few guys in Texas that are experimenting with modifying the back of their boat to create a barreling wave as opposed to simple rooster tail wake. some other guys are looking at dragging towed devices that create a similar optimised wake.
I ask you; arsehattery or bleeding edge

Holy fisting heck!!!!!!!
Early this year, I had this idea for an April fool's gag. I was gonna go crazy with photoshop and create these ridiculous surf riding devices called "floaterblades". I planned to build a whole website, graphics, logos and everything. I even checked that floaterblades.com was available ( it was ), and was hoping to to a video and maybe even get a retired pro surfer in on the joke to do an endoresment.
But now it seems someone has actually taken my joke and given it substance. Please tell me this the work of another piss taker out there who was just more organised than me... and that I actually
won't be run over by these things when summer arrives in just a few months...

Jaffa, I'm opinionated, and I'm sometimes right. So?

Having snow skied since before there were snowboards, I reckon at the moment it looks a kooky as the first Winterstick snowboards did back in the 80's.
All the hard core skiers were saying "Who wants to ride a surf board in the snow it will never work?....go back to the beach"
Give it time and the tide will turn and there will be a new wave of cross-sport "surf skiers" invading the beach sporting white Bonds singlets and bank manager haircuts in summer (the usual attire for skiers in the warmer months) and tight one-piece shiny fluoro ski-suits in the winter time ( which they are more accustom to wearing)
Just like the snowboarding surfers did to the mountains with their silly looking pointy swallow tailed boards and baggy pants and long hair.
Seriously though, the only people who will benefit from this ridiculous idea are knee surgeons.

unless the two hulls are joined together, this guy's cruciate ligament is about to go twang, this is probably sponsored by the knee surgeons association.
i saw tom carroll on an sup a few weeks ago and it looked like he was having fun. I'm also sure that the younger guys out had no idea who he was... my wife certainly didn't when she was discussing how competitive our kids were... funny given his wide competitive streak. Wonder how is foot is... Nick?

Saw a guy doing this the other day.
He was about 45, had a couple of young kids trailing along behind him while careening down the footpath like this:
It troubled me deeply.

all you physios will be treating torn knee ligaments if this one takes off!
they can come & join the multitudes who think it's fun to paddle a sea kayak out at the sharktower on their holidays...(only the shallowest bank on the beach at the moment!)
