Where have the forums gone?

The forums have disappeared off the Real Surf front page. Is it just me who's lost them or does no-one really give a hoot? They've been gone for a couple of days & it's a pain in the arse having to click through to them & to find what the latest posts are.

Maybe Don's trying to break our workday dependence on posting?

Nah. Forum Board Index is my home page. Rarely look at Real Surf now since I moved home.

With no disrespect meant to Don,Realsurf has become insignificant (to people who live within cooee of Sydney/and previously used it for up-to-date surf info).
It's been left way behind by the professionalism of Coastalwatch/Swellnet and the forums are the only reason I (and many others I assume ) keep using Realsurf.
To hide them away in the back pages, can't be a move designed to increase traffic to the site (which is what advertisers would want, you'd think)
According to the forums own stats-Total posts 346383 • Total topics 15048 • Total members 5473 •
And that doesn't include the number of views/hits

Why would you ignore these figures?

^^^^^^ Agree totally.. The forums are without doubt the best available but the rest of the site has been left behind and in my opinion need a massive overhaul..
A site with as many hits as RS gets should be able to generate a decent income...
Maybe some affiliate links and new front end would help????

Removing the forums from the homepage is what is euphemistically known as a "courageous" decision - i.e., totally insane.

Don can look forward to a steady decline in visits to the site. I know that I'm checking it out less and less.

The cynic in me is wondering if it has something to do with trying to influence the click-through rate (eg if you can't scan the recent comments on the main page you have to click on the 'forums' tab).

I think Don owes each of you lot a cache of money - or a round trip to the Mentawai - considering it is only b/c of you lot people come to RS. You lot are the lifeblood of this enterprise and put a lot in, well, some of you ... more so than those at the levers.
