Vicco this weekend
After 4 weeks out of the surf due to time spent in the sub-continent I am all ready for a surf this weekend and fark me is it looking good
6 - 8 foot at Flinders
4 - 6 foot at Pt Leo
12+ foot at Gunnamatta
Bit windy but with such a big swell it'll be happening in more places than not.
Thank you Huey for welcoming me back home

Re: Vicco this weekend
Yeah if i was in vicco a road trip down to around the portland area could be worthy and very cold!
Re: Vicco this weekend
Don't know what your talking bout roundhouse, portland's just a big shipping port. Better off staying in from the wind and cold
It will be bloody massive across the whole SE of the Continent though!

Fuck Sydney.
I'm predicting 10 foot in the protected reefs on the surf coast.
I just got back from outer posso's and everyone is getting pretty amped. Should be good!

Nick you pessimist! WInds won't be quite that strong but will be from the SW. There are two spots that will have some seriously heavy 6ft barrels. And no I'm not naming them. And no, they're not the spots you think! I'll aim to provide photographic evidence on Monday...
Re: Vicco this weekend
My girlfriend's flying down this weekend to spend the weekend with me in Melbourne...
I'm picking a board up from Trigger Brothers at Pt Leo on friday arvo... if it's cranking, i'm going to have a problem ... Surf or pick the girlie up from the airport at 5:30pm? Decisions decisions.
Every time she comes down, the swell picks up!
Do you think this one of those times when a man just has to draw the line and go surfing?
Sounds good in theory but are the repercussions worth the aftermath?

Ha, no not Lorne Point. But it might actually be decent there. I've never seen it big, but it will be out of the wind so wouldn't be the worst choice down that way.

Don't start this again please Alex. The other threads are copping enough of this.AZ wrote:Could be the biggest swell since the 1970's;)
But I do have to agree, it's looking bloody big down there. My mate in Hobart is frothing.......every inner point in Hobart will be pumping.
Re: Vicco this weekend
Yeah you're right I'm just stirring up the natives, none of the reefs in Westernport work on a SW swell, they need a lot of West in it and as for protected locations, forget it anything from the West turns it all to mush.axolotl wrote:i just dont get how you could get excited about 4ft, 35 knots cross shore shit.

Oh well think I'll head over to Point Addis reckon it'll be good there
