South Coast camping
Hey All,
Thinking of getting out of Sydney for the long weekend in June.
Can anyone recommend a nice place on the South Coast, no more than 4 hrs drive away from Syd that has good camping facilities and ideally a nice right hander?
Cheers,
Jk

Re: South Coast camping
pick the breaks you want to surf. then grab the nsw national parks guide or go online.

in that stretch, i like murramurang np the best for camping. the forests of deanes gums and cycads are beautiful. it's not the best for surf. and can be a long drive to get back out to the roads that you want.
if you're after commercial camping with shower blocks, i have no idea. but i like the painting of the dolphin riding the surfboard at the place at burril lake/dolphin point.

The Bendalong stretch is pretty nice.
It's hard to go wrong on the South Coast in June.

I would look at Merry Beach for the facilities if you like it clean. You can walk to Pretty and drive to Bawly and the camground sites are grass with absolute beachfront locations. You can also have a contained fire which is good.
Al this is gold. "She didn't realise I was fairly high and spent much of the evening trying to figure out why a purple and orange cow wanted me to climb a tree."

just got back, guard is on the way back down
watch out for ticks around the ulladulla to bawley stretch.
i would like to offer some nice spots to camp but have been sworn to secrecy.
plenty of really cool camping spots down dirt tracks, overlooking the ocean.

My choice would be Belanglo State Forest. I often drive into the forest by myself and soak up the atmosphere.
Lots of nice places to camp. You can scream all you like and no one will come. So its very private and secluded. A perfect getaway.
Let me know when you’re going down that way so that I may give you some good directions.
