Dan, up the top of the page, just under the banner advert you should find a line which says, "Board Index " - "Surfing" - "General Surf Discussion" (assuming you are on this topic.)
Click on "Board Index" and then select "General Surf Discussion" and when that comes up, you'll have the red "New Topic" button just under the moderators' names.
I have noticed that the new topic button isn't always there either so by doing what I listed above you are basically refreshing the link and it should show up. (non - technical jargon there)
If you go back to the Board Index any other way, no button

That board of Kelly is sweet sweet sweet. Love the way it hooked around off his cutties. 5'4" I've heard. But Kelly is such a midget, that's like 5'10" for a normal person.

Trivia time. Last person to win a world title on self shaped equipment? I'm thinking MR - in fact, he's the only one I can think of.

Last person to win (or even surf) a WCT event on self-shaped board?

He did put a frisson of excitement into an otherwise somewhat drab day.

Slater's 5'10" and 75 kilos.
Classic middleweight.
He's no midget.

I met Kelly briefly a few years back and he was easy a couple of inches shorter than my wife (who's no amazon). Didn't actually put the tape measure to him I admit, but he's not a big boy. In fact, some of these superheroes are stunningly petite. Mick Campbell - crazy small. Tommy Carroll - you could hide him in your pocket, and still have room for your phone. The ones you think are big just look that way because they're standing next to really tiny people. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
