Other hodads, Yuke. I’m still somewhat surprised I have managed to score as many satisfying surfs as I have over the lockdown but it still does my head in.

Not eleventy-foot epic but perfect smooth, glassy conditions with myself and 4 others at a regional classic reef break. Scored a really clean, wide barrel that did all the work for me (after making the drop).

Scored a cracker yesterday. Choppy today. Might clean up this arvo.

Not huge but plenty in the 3-5 foot range and the change in swell direction did good things to the shape.

Belting through this arvo. Fairly large rescue down the south end. We watched it after we left the Icebergs.

All went well till a couple of guys got into an argument in the water. One guy was annoyed an older man who was teaching his grand-daughter to surf right near the take-off zone, the angry guy had a point, it wasn't the best place to do this but he started launching into F bombs, yelling etc.. so grand-dad basically told him to get stuffed. Then grand-dad's son ran up from the beach and started yelling and they kept at it for like 10 minutes

Americans are hilarious when they are annoyed with each other. They either stand there and just yell at each other for an eternity or start shooting. If this was back home punches would have started flying almost immediately and the situation would have been dealt with in minutes

Pretty unco today. Got a couple but it was a bit more edgy than it looked. Pitching lips that immediately went fat. Hate that.

Small peaky waves and great to be back in the water.

Fun little waves occasionally with great conditions and not too crowded. A bit stiff from a couple of bike rides earlier in the week.

Went down to my nemesis today, powderpuff point. Tried a different strategy and sat about halfway out and picked off plenty of wider ones.

I surfed the point for the first and I imagine last time in a long time.
Had to sneak one in before Sydney arrives.
Fun sideshore waves, not crowded.

High Performance Mal as usual, Al. 9’1” widowmaker set up. Yes, I know. Still kicksarse nose riding. Highly manoeuvrable. Long rides. Would have been crap for a short board.
