Cranked up again this morning. Looked like about 200+ out when we checked it at 8:00am. Most too big for the banks and some classic launches. Wrong direction for Tama and there’s now a bit too much sand coming off the reef at Bronte. Need some more swell to wash it out

The wind shift late this arvo was insane. Turned absolute slop into super fun surf in about 15 minutes. I think half the NB’s was waiting for it with plenty of people heading out with minutes of the change.

Three goes around to get a park and crazy crowded. Nice in the water. Got tangled up with a learner somehow on the best wave I caught. Total madhouse.

I haven't surfed there today but the forecast for the Great Lakes is pretty crazy

Eeeewww...that looks grim. Always loved the sound of the name...Gary, Indiana. Never twigged it was on the shores of the Great Lakes. Would there be anywhere where you might find swell ..not short period and offshore....i obviously have no clue. And water quality .....? What does 14-18 ft really mean to an ocean surfer(Aust East Coast)

Plenty (well, maybe not "plenty" as we know it), of waves on the Great Lakes. Although I suspect the swell.windows might be short.

Yeah I checked it out years ago when I was staying at Three Oaks, Michigan.
It was flat.
And there was a surf shop but it was closed.

I found a full on surf shop in Boston, opposite the Common.
