Cruisy as at Hanalei. There was a decent sized swell on the day we arrived I believe. Got organised to get a car yesterday, drove up from Kapaa where we are staying and rented a board up there. There were still head high sets but the Tolhurst mal I rented went great. Smaller today. Very cruisy with big waits between waves and not much crowd. I got the impression the core guys were surfed out and wouldn't worry about it.

A new swell is supposed to arrive tomorrow so I'm hanging on to the board. I presume it's going to get much more competitive.
Plenty of Aloha Spirit and California Hail Fellow Well Met in the water so far.

Dawnie at NCC. Solid drops on a few. Fun way to start the day.

Early on the NBs before the wind/high tide and better than it looked.

Strangely uncrowded DY with clean chest-high sets. Wore my springy for the first time this spring.

Agnes was super fun this morning.
Waist to shoulder high, clean, trying to barrel, long rides.

Didn't try, and there weren't any of the regulars' cars at the carpark, there's a big trichodesmium bloom so the baitfish and predators all move offshore.

I don't really notice it, so I guess not.

Offshore waist to chest high peelers south of the gong. Must’ve bagged about 30 or 40 in a 2 hour session.

3-4 foot nor east wind swell. Super fun. South wind starting to get into it now though.

I thought All Moana was supposed to be very localised.

Not at mal size. Just let any Hawaiian looking short boarders have the waves they want and it's Aloha all round.

Nice surprise this morning - NE swell, low crowd and the right wind

Drove around and got nada. Plenty of carparks, not many spots any good. Looks better now I have the kids though

I'm glad it's been shit though, sitting out this last 5 weeks has been easier without hearing about pumping waves.
Might try and get out there later in the week.
I reckon I'll be puffed just getting out the back.

I'm the same.
For a different reason. Overseas for 4 weeks with no surf for a week before and the two weeks since we got back have been useless.
Hoping for something Wednesday.
