that was a classic southern NSW NE windswell with a clean up from the approaching cold front.

meanwhile the north coast was doing a fair impersonation of the English Channel. Straight onshore 2ft dribble with brown water and rain.

Dead flat this morning.

Swell's kicked up over the last few of hours down south. Easy double overhead now at a few spots and the beaches are maxed out. Blue sky and westerly breeze is making it look lovely.

Bronte to Tama looked amazing......except the swell was too big for the banks. Plenty of close outs and I counted 60+ guys out at Bronte....maybe 30 at Tama.

Mystics was mental this afternoon. Some of the biggest waves i've seen out there and they were makeable. I saw guys get some incredible barrels and incredible bashings. It is such an unforgiving wave from takeoff to whitewash. You get anything wrong and splat! Hundreds of people scattered down the beach. I had to park almost near the lookout. There were broken boards and some bloodied noses. Really heavy swell seeing as though it was barely pushing 2ft this morning.

You should’ve head south instead of driving around looking at closeouts

Could say that to the roughly 200 surfers between Bronte and Bondi.
Tama was very good on Saturday.

I love fast rising swells. Big lines out to sea, various breaks starting to show, then getting consistent, the freaky bigger sets every now and then. The inner monologue of "should I or shouldn't I"

Its been 5 weeks since the melodrama of melanoma removal and repair, so I'm now good to go again ... I've even got a nice new shooter sitting patiently and awaiting to be baptised.
