Well, I’ve come to the conclusion that most surfers are just plain cnuts. Was out the front last week on a very average right with 2 mates. The odd set would peak a bit and hit the bank ok but 90% were hitting the bank a bit wrong and shitting down. (Yes, that's a shit shut down close out, iggy scale). Usual story for out the front but the water was good and it was just the 3 of us. The N/E wind ruffled up a bit and then died again so it was relatively smooth for a little while. 6 guys from Sydney then paddled out and decided to hassle for anything that moved. 2 of them paddled past and sat about 5ft inside me, no acknowledgement, just sitting there amped for the next wave, which didn't come for a while, so they started scrapping for mid size waves and basically anything that was a lump in the ocean. The others bunched up around the spot we were surfing, like pack animals trying to claim the spot. I find most surfers behave this way. They basically behave like freeloading cnuts. There were other waves up the beach of equally shit quality but they saw us get a couple and decided it was the best spot. That's what surfing is these days, just a bunch of cnuts out for themselves and fcuk anyone else.

Very true, Duck. It helps sometimes if they can actually surf but they can still be cnuts if they can. In the average surf you are treated like a fool if you don't paddle inside and snake people. When it's not crowded there is no excuse.

Takes the joy away for sure. I sometimes worry myself by the magnitude of hatred sessions like that make me feel toward my brine brothers,


Cnuts

Funnily enough the last two surfs I had at everyone's Favorite Eastern Suburbs secret spot were crowded but I ended up dodging the crowd. Last one I stumbled on a right bank hidden under the outside close out and practically had it to myself for a few waves.

And it was at one of the most “localised” beaches in Sydney. Won’t name it because Lord Loofingtard will bash me.
