I'll have to aplogise for using kJs - but one of the long time guys here reckons it was 5000kJ, I don't remember feet or kJs for it, just a gestalt - but 5000 seems about right.
i hope I don't sound overly harsh here little buddy. but, i find it hard to believe you've surfed most of your life, and you can't put a round-a-bout height on the waves – for eg those top sequences are 8-foot.

... yet you can put this totally irrelevant measure of kj's onto the waves, which no one, absolutely no one, who isn't stark raving mad, can understand.

i love ya mate, and i hope this post finds you well.
Its a gestalt to which I attach a kJ measure, this crowds out feet, which are a pain in the arse anyway because of the double standard. I really have not consiously or unconsciously used feet for many years.

When I first encountered kJ I was as sceptical as you. But it was always there on surf forecast and I got interested in comparing to feet to see how stupid it was.

The guys who I was watching with came up with exclamations like its gotta be 20-25'. Probably thats real feet.

Just checked. No-one out, overcast with a flat light, only spent 15 minutes watching and its fairly full. Given all that its hard to get any scale but I'll go with 20-25' faces from the bombie down to outside corner, up to 30' at secrets.

The only scale was a jacung about 2-3k out looking tiny on the swell faces, but I couldn't tell if it was a jumbo size (40') or a regular (20'). Think it was the larger, if so add another 5' to my estimates.

Great day coming up.

Maybe. I don't know exactly why.

One frequent reason is close outs. But not getting in cleanly is also common.

I think bigger boards would definitely help. But everyone is going to get caught frequently by the bigger sets and pounded getting out and in, so maybe a smaller board board helps. Its a big deal though, even from the bombie when caught by a set you can be swept around the corner within minutes. Most don't come back. So getting under waves is really important.

OK. A configuration, pattern, or organized field having specific properties that cannot be derived from the summation of its component parts; a unified whole.

I have a gestalt of the whole scene at a surf location at a particular time series, it encompasses a myriad of visable and non visible impressions, some subtle, others not so. So this is becomes a set of memories of uluwatu at say 5000kJs. Other subsequent memories of the whole field at various kJs are added over time to enhance various gestalts.

Did you have a 3-wave holddown this morning cranked? Because you're speaking absolute gibberish.

Fcuk, fcuk, fcuk, fcuk, holy shit!!!!!

I just got a brand new gestalt for what 15000kJ means My spine is still tingling.

Massive, massive set just rolling in. There's two guys way outside of the bommie. I think their only concern now might be to figure out how they are going to survive
