Joel Tudor calls em training wheels and gets stuck into anyone that uses them. He seems like a bit of a DH.
I followed him on Instagram for about a year. He said nothing worth hearing and quite a few things that showed he was in fact, in ozzy terms, a bit of a bogan dickhead.

Unfollowed him about 3 months ago.

I think it's that word "modern" mate that may preclude singles from the discussion. That is to say Joel Tudor types are quite *"traditional" in their approach.

*Traditional = cool dude

Anyway those 7ft and a bit mid lengths seem to work well as a 2+1 and as an alternative to "big guy" short boards and or a different way to surf.

it's been postponed, so that the lumpen masses can bask in the mindless, self gratifying meaningless pleasures of balmy autumn days while heinous deeds are being hatched by the deep state. ;-)

winter, it will come.

Well not at the Surf Ranch - watched some highlights of the Founders Cup on Foxtel for day 1. Interesting but a bit flat - the waves were machine like, the surfers all knew where the tube would be, how many seconds in there, it felt and looked a bit the same although the women did seem to surf with some variety.

Was interesting to look at the crowd in the background - certainly not like GC or Bells - and yes, even the waving of the American flag by spectators.

And people did fall off the waves/caught in the tube so not always a 10 ride - the set up is deal for the Olympics as guaranteed waves for the global audience, get the event over in a day and know the time of the medal presentation.

Good day of surf coming up, 1500kJ, offshore of course, should see regular head and a half, maybe a few doubles -from dawn till dusk.

There's just enough light to check it now.

I pine for that Cranked.

Another day of garbled semi onshore junk here.

This Autumn really has been a total dud.

At least this rain will fire up the jewfish.

Me too cranked - he's a massive knob. He had a few shots at Devon Howard on insta a few weeks ago. Not sure they are 'friendly' anymore.

I have my 7'er being fitted with a centre fin box as we speak. A 5 fin, but I never use the fcs centre fin box, so a 10"er is going in. I will definately use side bites if I think it'll improve the board. Fluk joel Tudor !

Ps I will not say that to his face :)

Royal national Park. Stacks of long period south groundswell getting in. Loads of grunt and well overhead on the sets. Started off on the beachbreak but it was mostly maxed out. Banks weren’t handling. Then surfed the left reef point. Bit shifty and inconsistent but got some cracking runs from the point all the way into the beach.

I was a bit further south at the nearest open beach. Same, probably not as big but some grunty overhead sets. Peddle to the metal on the rights, the left more of a sweet zippy rip bank.

Haven't surfed for three weeks and it showed! Got a cuppla but eh

And may I add, there seems to be plenty of lines showing right now. Hopefully they hang around for the early?

Wind protected locations should be less than half that size. Still decent but

6-8 or 4-6?

depends where. there'll be protected spots probs hitting 8ft and others only 4ft or less. if the swell gets a bit of east in it (as predicted later in the day) then it will even size range out a bit more in the upper range. sandon will have waves, but probs crowded and breaking wide as it's very directional south swell. i'll be heading further south. one or two spots that should be 5-6ft plus. anywhere copping the full brunt of the swell will be probs getting ripped up by the wind. if you're planning on staying local then wedding cake should have some big bombs to photog or attack for anyone who's got the agates or board for it.
