I wouldn't call us friends, but I'm going around this weekend to help her do some stuff. She still holds hope for getting back together that I don't remotely share. Hence, it's very difficult to spend time with her

Might be good to recommend that she seek professional help to get over things. It works and would help you both.

She has. It's definitely helpful for her, but, as to be expected, it's still very raw

This could just as well have been swvic (or the professor)

Michael Finkel | Guardian | 15th March 2017
Christopher Knight was 20 when he walked into the New England woods, and 47 when he walked out again under police escort. “It was as if he went camping for the weekend and then didn’t come home for a quarter of a century.” He lived as a hermit, sleeping rough and seeing nobody. The closest he came to civilisation was pilfering food from holiday homes — hence, eventually, the police. “My desires dropped away. I didn’t long for anything. I didn’t even have a name. I was completely free”

Haha. That'd be a true post midlife crisis. 9 yo C Class diesel wagon. Top of the range though and in immaculate condition with low kms. Pretty sure I've only ever owned one better stereo than what's in this

No 4WD. I had one of those Falcon farm utes with the higher clearance and diff lock. Got me to a few spots a normal car didn't have a hope of, but not Cats. Always relied on mates for that. Except for one, each of the guys I usually surf with has a fully capable 4WD. Fun wave though. Haven't been since about last Easter. I like the fact it's still quite the mission even after you've done the car journey. I have thought of riding my pushbike to it along the walking track, but dismissed it just as quickly. Imagine trying to ride back after you've surfed and climbed up. I think it could actually kill me

North end. Head and a half high lefts running for 70-80 metres with wackable sections and face to carve, from out the back all the way into the beach. Washy but still fun with a clean face.
