DY upwards from that 1st walkway has been crowded for the last few days. Hate to imagine what the weekend will bring. I guess that's what happens with such a high concentration of people living so close to their local beachfront.

Bit of an afternoon paddle. Nice to be in the water without the blueys. Nearly got decapitated. Decided to call it a day soon after.

Not many blueys during the day, though later on when the wind picked up they were everywhere and pretty much everyone got caned. My hands got blitzed. Got chatting to some old salt out there on blue bottle tips. Keep your hands in the water when stung as the dry air makes it heaps worse. Spray WD40 on the stings and it's gone presto. Dude keeps a can in his car. Probably not ideal, a bit toxic, but WGAF

WD40 is mostly fish oil.

How do you know that beany?

My wife's rellies manufacture and package the stuff in their plant just south of Sydney. Formula's supposed to be a secret.

The instructor at an outboard school I attended told us it was mostly kerosene, with scent added.
BTW, "WD" stands for "water displacement" , the 40th attempt; so he said.

In a Leslie Nielsen movie one of the agents was code named WD40. :-D-:

Snapped my old 5'9 self shaped quad halfway down greenmount this morning after dropping into a heavy one
Came in holding the two halves.

Nah

It's taken a beating over the years, probably did at least ten ding repairs on it.
Was stubby and thick but still didn't survive the detonating lip.

I dug it. Pin tail, wide point forward, low rocker, heaps of planing area up front to get in early, single concave out through the tail.

Ah well.

Some 1-2' blown out lumpy waves on the 8'er. Was pretty clean when we first paddled out but wind picked up almost instantly. First surf in 6 weeks so put up with it for half an hour. Bloody warm water
