Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah well I've had one in my quiver for at least ten years. Long before the hipsters got hold of them and gave them a cool name.
About time the mini mal got a PR facelift anyway. They can be highly versatile and fun as fûck
In the blustery conditions I still managed to bag loads of waves. On a 6'2 shorty I'd have been lucky to scratch into a single wave. And a full length longboard would've had too much rail line, limiting the turns. It was a MINI MAL session through and through

Manly around early afternoon - just great for me.

Autumn! Finally got a chance for a weekday pre work surf today. Feels odd putting a steamer on in March.
Manly stretch, peaks galore, stiff offshore.

Cold wind, dawn. In the middle ground between warm water but coldish air and wind.

and most of autumn.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yep. Boardies and vest is still fine. Maybe springy for the dawny.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I got out of my wet one, put on a dry one and did a modern dance routine in the car park and then drove home in it.

Have a 1 mil long sleeve vest but didn't really cut it a 6.45am when the sun wasn't out with 15 knots of south west wind. A few hours later, it would have been fine.brendo wrote:do you switch up to a 4/5mm with hood and booties for winter??channels wrote:Autumn! Finally got a chance for a weekday pre work surf today. Should invest in a springie but I'm usually either hoarders and long vest or 3/2.

Mid-Narrabeen. Some very tasty wedges amongst the usual shutdowns. Don't tell anyone.
