Beanpole
You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Yes. I know exactly where too. And it's the only properly protected / offshore spot up the in north easterly winds.

I usually don't surf Saturdays but if I do I know a backbeach that has insane banks right now. But thanks for your concern Iggs.

That'd be a ratio of 1:20 ratio of "backbeaches with marginal wind protection" up yonder vs the mix of pocket beaches, headland coves, and reefs to chose from down hither.
Mmmmmbut go ahead get excited about your negligible options, help yourself.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
sorry mate but how much of this tradewind swell do you think will get south of Coffs?
Clue, it starts with a nought and ends with the middle of a doughnut.
we've got 5 days of tradewind swell on the menu, you've got a 6 hour window of NE windswell.
But go ahead and froth out over all your options to surf at, that have negligible swell.

yep - often hard to believe there isn't a rock bottom with the way it breaks.Hatchnam wrote:I've once surfed overhead Mystics on my mini mal for shits n giggles. Re: Where did you surf today ?
Well I went out in absolute knee high shit this morning. Took out a board I hadn't ridden in 2 years, brushed the spider webs off and paddled out. Realized I should have waxed it when my back foot slipped all the way back off the swallow tail and I did the mega splits over the falls and narrowly avoided castration by glass fin.
Lolz

Erase.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I looked and looked but it was just too small, and I surf really small waves happily. Shouldve went for a swim.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I'm not getting hyped at all but it'll be shite easy to find head high surf all week and into the weekend.
tbh, I'm having just as much fun or more surfing babyfood with the kids.
Have you ridden a shortboard since this little logbook started? Seems you're on the mini-mal or mal every sesh.
Nothing wrong with that.
Looks like something much more substantial next week. Maybe you should get on the shorty this weekend to keep your hand in?

1/2 a foot of weak junk at Manly. Was it worth it? Nope
Re: Where did you surf today ?
My little twin is in getting repairs so I've been sticking with the 7'6 and 6'6 mini mal, as the waves have only ranged from knee to headhigh, and mostly glide-trim peeler shaped waves.steve shearer wrote:Have you ridden a shortboard since this little logbook started? If it gets to a punchy head-high or bigger by the Saturday, then for sure without a doubt I'll jump straight back on a thruster shorty.
Might head out tomorrow morning but might also just do a few weights instead. See what mood I'm in at the time.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Hey iggy. im not much into this whole dick swinging thing about which is better, sydney or northern nsw/ se qld, because i don't really care about anyone but myself and what i'm doing ... but, i got another mate like you, who's from sydney and froths out over the surf there. always messaging me and telling me how good it is. as a man of average intelligence, his efforts seem like nothing more than self-blown bluster to convince himself he's in some sort of metropolis surfing nirvana – which i'm of the very devout opinion is an oxymoron, as the metropolis and the many people clogging its arteries are the total anti-surfing, void of soul. and you can't have surfing without soul.
to confirm my rigid beliefs about said mate ... whenever he's up here just completely loses his shit at what we have going on up here. i can even ply him full of alcohol and have him declaring by 8:30pm how he'd move & relocate here in a nano-second if it were at all possible.
another semi-related thing; it makes me wonder. why is there a dearth of world tour ASP/ WSL surfers and world champions (of all ocean riding disciplines) from sydney if the waves are so plentiful, challenging and just so damn good?
and another question, man to man ... you can't possibly like travelling around the clusterfuck which is sydney traffic just to get wet? i reckon whatever beach i lived at, would be where i surfed. no matter what. but then i remember average, stock-standard normal people like me, can't afford to even rent a pad within a bulls roar of the beach. so i'd be taking up golf or getting fat.

Can't believe I'd ever defend living in Sydney ( and I wouldn't live there ever ) but if you're up early, driving in and out of Sydney is pretty easy.
