Re: Where did you surf today ?
It's different. I bruised a rib at Jackson Hole and the doc gave me Vicodin AND Valium. He suggested I take both before snowboarding. I questioned this advice with a ski bunny who said yeah it helps you relax.
Erase.

Terrain in European resorts shits on Japan, and nearly all of North America. The inbounds terrain at my comparatively flat resort in Switzerland would get you arrested in Japan. Snow is patchy. Food is variable.
Food in Japan and the onsen culture are great. Snow is insane. Alcohol and food are cheap. Resorts are relatively flat (and upside down, steepest at the bottom), trees are open. They are the handshaped mini-mal of international destinations.
Backcountry is dangerous due to the amount of snowfall, and all the fcuking Aussie chargers who don't know what they are doing.
Canada has terrain but is freezing or wet. Lots of pot.
Peeps are friendly.
Cascades get masses of wet snow. Lots of pot.
Sweden is cold and flat and full of Russians.
California is like Australia (I gather, never been in Australia). Slush can be fun.
Utah is wicked, except for the Mormons. Snow like Japan, mountains like Canada.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Australia has it's moments and there's insane terrain, if you don't mind hiking.
Problem is fukall vertical and very unreliable snowfall.
bribie is too flat but you can ride the dunes at moreton

Wasn't comparing Aus to Europe I was just trying to flesh out Boo's otherwise insanely comprehensive global wrap up.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Look, after a few seasons in the snow, both here and Canada, I'm pretty much done with ski resorts, full stop. They have to be the biggest wanker magnets on the planet as well as specialising at bending you over and arse reaming you.
Maybe a Japanese resort with onsen etc etc. Those snow monkeys look great and getting pissed with Japanese people is as fun as life gets.
Jackson Hole sounds nice: those Grand Tetons appeal. I'm sure the flyfishing in those streams is epic.
I've ridden powder as deep as it can get and and as steep as it can get and after giving it away I don't miss it a single bit. Maybe a bluebird day in the Aussie back country jumping off a cornice along the Tate ridge.

Flat and warm.
But cool to surf and snowboard in the same day.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.
