the best board in the world for good waves.
Absolutely . Best step up I've surfed. They feel like a calligraphy pen under foot. Such a neutral and clean feeling board. I'd like to get another, this time a 6'6 with a big Fap Kitty painted on it.

haha. i just snorted, for reals.

fap kitty would love to ride big waves. he'd be your good luck charm. I'd love a 7'0" and just live on tavarua with it.

I reckon getting a custom order is a must with the black beauty. If I got another that's what I'd do . My 6'9 was a great board but a real beefcake. 2 & 7/8 thick !

interesting day.
at the heads last night, it was 3+ metres, messy disorganised, the city bound ferry was lurching all over the shop making way through the rough and tumble.
pre dawn, not much action out there, lovely sunrise though.
got home to bondi at 6.30 , it was super clean 2-4 ft. scores of surfers getting amongst it. had a few then crashed out.
woke and looked at 1130 and saw just 3 or 4 out the back, thinking, oh shark sighting?....then sets came rolling through, overhead +.
hmm. mostly closeouts, imagined somewhere else there were epic waves unfolding, ridden.
had a body bash in the arvo with the dazzler.

South facing reef an hour and a half south of sydney . Four foot plus, inconsistent and washy. Heaps of boils, side slap, and 'stop-start' sections.

None of them really grinding and linking right the way thru from start to finish, but some decent enough wackable bowls in the mix. Sketchy refracting takeoffs on about 90% of anything coming thru.

Got held up on one of them and couldn't feed into the takeoff. Then the face completely disappeared into a straight vertical drop over almost dry reef. I got slapped shitless at the base and probably came with in just inches of hitting the reef.

An ok session, nothing flash. But with only two others out who can complain.

Hypto Krypto Update March 7th, 2015.
--------------------------------

For Immediate Release:

A middle aged gentlemen with the body of a professional darts player was sighted at Palm Beach this morning surfing a HK with reckless abandonment, flair and aplomb. He was lip-tapping, soul arching and occasionally power-turning his HK through the small gutless peaks along the mediocre stretch of beach break.

Prompt thoughts turned to Iggy, and wonderment at what would he be thinking of all this?

A few bombs smashing the brave hearted at Bronte earlier. Even the rubber duck had to gun it for the horizon at one stage.

Actually had a plan to do a surf mission up to a rarely breaking left that's the longest left in Oz. But no enthusiasm at our house. Geeze. Lucky I didn't go since the winds gone SE.

The Farm is on - come join me and the 400 others out. At least it's just big enough to keep the sup-ers away....

This is when we should be getting a rundown on charging some obscure North Side Reef from Carroll.

Hatchies session doesn't sound that inviting to me.

it wasn't. and i was surprised by the lack of size to the swell. it wasn't getting like it should've, albeit very south facing, south of the gong and five islands etc.

i was almost tempted to hit the farm too, but glad i didn't.

should've just hit the cronulla stretch.

Shark Island looked absolute crap n the cams. Bronte was big and closey outie . Fun to watch. Got covered while standing up the top of the walkway past the baths. I mean right up the top. That's a big spray. Three guys out. Apparently someone tried to go out off the rock shelf up from the usual jump off spot near the baths and got washed right across the rocks down to the main beach.

Had a bash at the windblown chunks on offer. A bit of fun in the crowds. Good to get in the water. Still a few seven wave sets belting in occasionally.

Had an unexpectedly good evening session just then. I'm not sure if it is my new shorter board, the banks or the smaller fins but my word, I am finding turns so much easier to make, especially on my backhand. I also think I did a layback snap in a close out section.

You should have seen what it was like in summer. Its current state is an improvement.

Lots and lots of no look kooks. Didn't bother me I was alternating between my board, swimming and my daughters softie. Still it's a nice Beach. Pretty mellow compared to the eastern shiturbs. No wonder beanholes' like he is.
