Small insipid waves. Ok on fishy thing, I guess.

Best peaks taken by the youngens who are here for the QS 3000 event this week.

Made me think about the Lennox crew and their efforts to stop the full pro comp. It’s not the actual event that rankles but, the wave traffic it generates for those weeks. However, after seeing all those young guys and gals congregating on the beach and in the village I wondered what all the fuss was about.

The girls all looked like Steph Gilmore clones with long blond hair from another era, chirping away about this that and the other. The blokes a little more stoic and solitary. But, comfortable in the surroundings and happy to be here.

As a rate payer I didn’t/don’t have an issue with this event. I’ll just surf down the road if it’s too busy. The cafes were busier than usual and the shop keeps all smiling away.

I left pondering what the Lennox surfers had really gained from stopping these young adults experiencing Lennox and surfing the wave that they live near.

No one has stopped anyone from experiencing anything you over cooked drama queen.
More pros surf here than any other wave in Oz.

And the cafes are overflowing every day of the week especially when there is a swell running.
You did stop people competing though. But, why bother?

Steve, I don't think you're owning your actions. You cant have it both ways.

More than ever, I think it's going to be super interesting for a lot of the NBs regulars, specially the newbies from Covid etc to see some of the CT crew surf in real life.

There's a LOT of surfers around here but dead set they have no idea the CT even exists, much less that JJF, Filipe, Steph etc are real people.

I'm gonna invite all of 'em to roam up and down, tell them where the nooks and crannies are. Basically unleash them on the citizenry. The lowest ranked CT pros are SO MUCH BETTER than anyone thinks. They're way better in real life than on the WSL's TV show. And the big guns are unbelievable. They're gonna blow VAL minds from the Joey to Deadman's.
And the people will LOVE IT!!

Northern Beaches is perfect for it.
Lots of lightly attended B grade surf being poorly surfed.

Very under-utilised wave resource.

Pretty much the opposite to here, which is fully utilised.

No surprise to anyone I disagree with Carroll on the back markets. I think they are mostly unimpressive.

Not till you get to the big dogs or specialists do minds get blown.

Fanning, three years retired would blow away every CT back marker in proper surf.
I swear last winter driving past the Point I could tell if Fanning was out from a mile away due to the distinctive size and shape of his rooster tails.

The worst pro to surf with imo. His wave count is immense.

Lennox where the locals “really hold it down out there“. What does that exactly mean I wonder?

You seem unable to let go of this butthurt Thud.

What’s the problem? Really?

The comp was comprehensively rejected by the local community.
Anyone bringing a functional skill set and a reasonable attitude will have a ball out there.

If you act like a fcukwit you might get regulated.

Anyhow you going to either or both CT’s Thud? Closest you’ll get to a CT for a while.

Yeah good effort.

What I hear, Lennox is shit a lot of the time, indeed it's been pretty shit for the past two months 'cause the bank is shot.

Also, I heard Carcass was one of the main protagonists in the whole "fcuk the WSL!!!" spazzfest around that CT.

In other words, people are still listening to a guy who was convicted for assault on a genuine heroine of this nation's surfing rep and history. A guy who thinks it's OK to bash Jodie Cooper.

That's the kind of person who leads opinion on issues, well good luck to yas.

You should know better than to listen to rumour Nick.

Far bigger fish than Carcass were opposed.

It’s all part of the public record.

For the actual record Carcass was charged and convicted in a court of law , partly because of witness statements and footage supplied by the local surfing community.

I sat through every second of the court proceedings if you’d like actual facts of the case.

George Greenough was opposed. As was every shaper in Ballina . As was Don Munro and the surf reserve committee, a committee by the way that your and my pal Phil Myers does not serve on.

By all means try and discredit that community opposition if it suits you.

Carcass was not even a bit player.

Pretty sure that matter was decided by Judge Karen Stafford in favour of Cooper Loof.
