smoking beachies this morning.

crisp offshore, fat takeoffs where you really had to motor to get into them, running into a piping fast pits and then exploding in knee deep water 40-odd metres down the line.

super fun.

Dawny at Narra this morning. A lot of baitfish jumping around me. Some much larger things chasing them creating bow waves as they went. Very close. A little unsettling.

Head and a half high thumping lefthand peaks. All walled up, bowling and running. Got some fkn screamers.

Blew the opportunity for a throaty backhand barrel though  . The takeoff was a cresting peak that broke further out, with a sloping shoulder. Two seconds later it hit flush on the inside bank and decided to barrel, but by then my line was already set too far down and in front, so I spent the rest of the wave trying to keep up, only to finish off with a couple of luke warm carves into the lip.

Sat patiently waiting for another one like it to come through, so I could be better prepared, sitting back deeper, and pitching my line high and tight across it, but it never happened :(

Apart from that one fk up it was a good session.

Loofy - the left bank shifting just north and south of the stormy is cooking at the moment. If you've been missing out, then get amongst it.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Scored the corner at a spot we call b'gar again today with only a few out, it's been epic lately. Park near the surf club, walk to the paddle out, surf silly, head in and get a coffee ... Yew. It's becoming so repetitive though. How many barrels can one get in two weeks?

Went out at Impossibles at 2pm, came in at 5pm; the swell was just starting to show, beautiful swell, 6'-8' faces, tide still shallow, sets of 10 to 15 waves every half hour or so, pretty much nothing in between, wind dead offshore and slowly easing to glass. Waves breaking super fast as usual, only the bigger ones staying open for 150-200m ride. Crowd was moderate.

I scavenged for the leftovers mostly, I'm always put off by a crowd, but caught one classic when the entire pack drifted off station during a lull and left me by myself at the premium take off spot.

I'll be probably be taking photos for the next two days if the swell continues to build as predicted

Just walked down to check out Ulus. Well, todays the day if you don't like crowds, about six people out at the bombie, solid gnarly swell, someone said 12'. Watched for about 40 mins, less than 10 waves caught plus a few disastrous take offs, all very memorable for the guys out there I'm sure, but way too far out to sea really for spectators. Took a few pics, someone was just setting up his 2.5" canon with a bazooka for a lens, that's what I need but don't have a spare 10 grand for.

Not many people around, just a few weather beaten, older, well experienced guys looking for their guns, or borrowing one. Got a nice pic of a Bill Barnfield 7'6 balsa gun that someone was waxing up, beautiful board.

Padang Padang working but not so good yet, there and outside corner should be firing in the afternoon.
