No doubt he enjoyed it and did his best, does that mean I am impressed with it... no.

How many places in the world do you think could give you a ride that long and fast on a wave that size?
Not many.

We appreciate that, Loof. It's important to keep a standard for riding high kilojoule waves over a kilometre.

Wait to you see the barrels on the two waves the same height. They will knock your socks off, I'll hear the yells and screams, 'bullshit!!!!!' and 'no fcukin way!!!!' from here.

Can't believe they haven't surfaced yet.

Cranky, you have to understand that Loofy sets the benchmark for performance big wave surfing around here.

Sorry to intrude on the very appealing jam donuts and buns, but this is the 'Where did you surf' thread.

I've been checking the surf all morning. It's been a bit lumpy, the tide is pushing so its pretty good, but it will be much better as the tide drops. I think 1pm to 4pm will be best.

But the swell is supposed to jump to 3.5m/10,000kJ. I don't want to surf that at all, especially at low tide.

This is certainly a dilemma. I better go and have another look.

Then surf before the swell hits and come in when it does.

That's exactly what I'm gonna do. Its good now and the tide has turned. No need to wait any longer.

Yes, very good BA.

I just noticed though that if you just use thousands of kJs you get a measure that is very close to surfers feet but obviously has a scientific basis. Lets call them mega joules (mJs).

So like surfers feet go from 1 to 15 feet (for the last bali swell), so we go from 1-15 mJs.

Nice eh? It seems there really is, in a roundabout way, a science basis to surfers feet.

Given the proper acronym for megajoules is MJ, I propose that cranked's new measure be known as 'mong-jewels'.

Can you convert Mong jewel measurements to the weed cake scale?
Erase.
