Surfed by myself for 2 hours in 2-3 iG waves, perfect glassy conditions. WTF.

This was unprecented. I was starting to worry, maybe water hating zombies had taken over Bali and everone had been killed, or something.

Two days of totally unpredicted south swell. Forecasters have been way off both days.

I didn't bother yesterday, but if this morning was the same as yesterday, there wasn't much swell and what there was was wobbly.

Third go out on the rabbidge single fin. Today had sets a little overhead, some with a bit of push and bowl to them. Got a few good runs, and one peaky ripbowl left with a carvey wall and wackable section. The board feels great! Smooth as silk, and turns beautifully. Can't wait to get it into some proper overhead chunk.

The zig fins arrived today, and I put them in. They're pretty tiny. And because I only just got the board i can't really comment on with vs. without. Later perhaps? though I expect the performance aspects of having them in will be barely noticeable. And that's what I'm after really. I prefer single fins to feel like single fins.

I foolishly got fin plugs put into a glorious single fin triple stringer mal he made. It was a single in the shop.....6ounce Bondi.
I have had it for easy ten years and never dreamt of putting side fins in once. I had been riding my previous Taka mal as a thruster.

Just looking at my quiver. I got three single fin boards in amongst them all now. Maybe it's time I grew a beard and started playing a rubab

Yeah, but the only impediment to that scenario is that tomorrow morning you'll wake up and look in the mirror and there'll be a chest thumping, overreaching spastic looking back at you.

A little embarrassing but today was the best surf I've had in probably 18months, maybe even since I hurt my knee. Only head high, occasionally little bigger but enough push to not have to pump etc. Average shape too but it was good to feel some decent waves for a change. Took the 7'4" JD, first surf on it in waves deserving of it. Foot all over the place on the first one, thought I was on the 5'4" haha. Calmed down and stuck to the "longer board, longer turn" rule and had a couple of good ones. Got me pumped to get out more. Felt like an actual surfer again.
