I came out of the weekends swell/paddle-fest with some weird injuries.

Got this stabbing whiplash thing in my neck and a strange tendonitis ache, that robs me of strength in my right elbow.

I can't remember any savage wipeouts.
get that looked at shep, that sounds like refered pain from one of your cervical joints. the one that put me out for 4.5yrs caused
pain under shoulder blade, down outside of arm past elbow in fingers. pins and needles and tingling and like someone was clenching my neck muscles.
im nearly sure the elbow pain is cause you have inflammation in your neck.
go see rob carr, I don't know him, he moved there when I moved away but I know a bunch of guys up there who rave about him

Well Monday was a doozy. As discussed I'd done my knee in a Dad Related Injury but it didn't seem too bad once the nurofen kicked in, went out slowly and gingerly to Sandon where as I paddled out the wind went nuts and put it to the sword.

Took off on a decent one, didn't make the take off and snapped my board in half. Swam in.

Tops!
so no board review?!

Thank fcuk the mighty Twinny was in the shop! Na, old board- I wasn't too upset about it.

Edit: I doubt the twinny would've snapped anyway. The board I was surfing was pretty thin!

Yeah absolutely. Being that I can't justify buying a heap of boards I tend to use one pretty much all the time. So, every swell that has hit in the last six months I've surfed on that twinny.

That big weekend a month back or so I definitely felt under gunned, but it holds amazingly well in overhead plus.

Some Sandon sessions have been relevatory.

Great to hear. I was also surprised and the size I could take it out it. Once surfed it at Ulladulla bombie in the nearly DOH range. Not the easiest to paddle into (small board, shifty peak, super late steep takeoff) but held in tight off the bottom and heaps of traction carving the face on the inside bowl. twinnies get a bad wrap for not being suited to bigger waves, but the good ones don't skate out, and will push back just as hard as you drive off them

Got any knots in your traps steve? Get someone to have a rummage and if they find any, stick their elbow in them to release the spasm. I sometimes get a bit like what you describe and it's always linked to knots in me traps. Hurts like fuchsia when you apply the treatment but does work

Super fun playful beachies this morning when it was clean. New banks everywhere. So I went down the beach to one. Of course nobody down there (four floaters out the peak even though it's mired in sand after that swell)

Lots of fun rights and a few lefts, a cool rip bowl at the end of the right

Sure enough, after I'd been surfing it for an hour, people started coming out there. Banks everywhere but no, they have to come out here. I know the rationale but it's so fcuking predictable.
Well if I ever went surfing and noticed four turds in the water, I would be going to another beach

Although Leggie Point used to smell like four million turds at times back in the day.

But I would draw the line at whole faeces

They used to pump sewage out at my local when I was a kid. Low water was OK but chance it at mid you'd be dodging tampons and turds. Picked up some enjoyable D&V from time to time

Surfing is like an old girlfriend who has moved on, and I'm now living in a men's hostel eating chops and drinking International Roast Caterers' Blend while she's happy, rich and with a really great man and a few kids. I continue to stalk her and feverishly hold a slim hope that we'll get back together one day.

2+1 DVS cut down All Rounder in 2ft fatties. Heavy boards that turn are a menace to the bits and pieces that support the knee cap.
