I'm fortunate enough to have a good indigenous mate that lives down that way (No idea if he does still, Owen Carriage for those who might be able to shed some light?), and spent a lot of time there as a youngster camping in at Termeil and all throughout the Murramarang NP. If I could choose to live anywhere, it would be there.

pretty flat this morning but some lovely conditions. Warm water, little wind and nice and glassy. Decided to go for an ocean paddle on the racing board. Stopped by at Bungan and got a few tiny waves in from rock pools, then headed up to Newport reef to see if I could find any bronzies. Saw heaps of fish and a few dolphins right out. No one else out there but me. Life doesn't get much better. I haven't been paddling enough but the more I do it the more Im getting into it and the further I can go. I felt fantastic when I got back to the beach. Like I wanted to go back out and do it again, but I had to go to work.

Anyway got up the beach and theres a guy I know. Swollen eye and blood pissing out of his nose. Like someone had just beat the sh1t out of him. He was out doing an ocean swim on his own and suddenly bam. He slammed into something out there in the water. Ends up it was another swimmer doing an ocean swim out there coming the other way. Hows that for chance? They head slammed each other way out there, no one else around.

Had the pleasure of watching Layne Beachley catch a few waves near me at Longy this morning. She looked to be helping out with the Manly Surf School, who were clearly lost

Just drove down to garie, then stanw ell park, then as far as headlands.
Had a vege pie on the way back at stanwell park. Then Otford then Helensburgh after we gave up on the windblown mess.

Bondi looks ten times better 3-)

MR's are the best boards. Especially when it's small.

My local. South end, wind affected but bowly rights on dusk. Almost headhigh on the sets, and wackable. Pretty consistent too. Way better than anywhere on the entire Illawarra stretch today. What a waste of time and petrol that was  .

Had a paddling and duck diving session at the wind affected north end of my local at dusk today. I ditched the spring suit for boardies and a rashie because there is a scabbed rash on my shoulder blade that causes discomfort whenever I paddle in the spring suit. Didn't last too long as I was freezing in the rashie.

At least I can duck dive my board to avoid oncoming unbroken sets but have trouble getting it under white water.
