Went back to the scene of the crime and left without seeing it. Car park was like the Battle for Stalingrad.

well the Uncrowded Dream died this morning up here at good ol Newport

2-3' NE groundswell, inconsistent, warm, offshore winds, and 60 rubbernecks out. Amazing! Everything from Sth American back packers to 40 year old beginners to 60 year old Pretend Old Salts on shitty $1200 longboards! Tragically the southerly came and blew them all around to Avalon

Sounds like Bondi has moved across the bridge. Howling onshore now. Tried to look at Zthe Bra since we were over there but there's a Seal Carnival on. Did the shopping.

Working in Byron or I would have had a punt. Anyhow went back this arvo and laid down a 3 hour sesh. It was pumping again but a bit less consistent and less water moving around.
Crazy, multinational frothed out mega crowd.

I put 4 fins in the Ghost and I was so excited to ride it and the first wave it just went.....straight....I couldn't fcuking turn it, it was like trying to bend an iron bar. Many embarrassing waves followed. I could take the drop, go straight and do a bottom turn and that was it.
Then I did the best full speed power hack of my life and comboed it straight into a fins out close out hit. Confused.
Then mega kookery. Then an absolute bomb , came off the bottom buried the arm and out the pie in the oven and this chick in a purple bikini on a boogie board just absolutely stuffed me.
I wore the lip on the head got smashed and ended up tangled up underwater with a South American stud.
It was very confronting.

Back to the beach for another lap. More kookery. Came in and took the motherfucking four fins out of the board.
I have no idea what happened.

Goes better as a tri fin ay?

Front fins to large in Quad set up?

Total question not a suggestion.

That is the only conclusion I can make.

Unless there is something drastically wrong with the fin set up on my board.

I don't believe in the 5 fin setup at all.

quads just aren't fun unless you're in serious waves. fast hollow, serious waves. even then, i'd rather the micro allowances a tri setup allows you to make over the rigidity of 4 fins.

5 fins is just taking the utter piss.

I've found with the odd Quad if I over size the fronts it has a significant impact on tail stiffness
