Couple of fun ones before the tide swallowed it up. Water temp seemed to have dropped a bit.

Yesterday was a good solid swell. Don't know why, but a small crowd around 7am, and only a couple of us at 12pm, surfing in excellent conditions with some double overhead sets coming through.

Just checked Ulus. High tide. Secrets is double overhead plus on the sets, light offshore, sunny, perfect conditions, no-one out. The sets are sweeping down through empty Temples and there is a pack of about 15 on outside corner, but the wind is messing it up a little.

Surfed Hanalei today at lunch. Waist to shoulder high with the odd head high set. Got a cracker right through when I first paddled out. It tends to shut down and section but it's a long wave when they link up. Have to take the Highline. It got crowded as the afternoon progressed.

And no giant Hawaiian is going to smack you down for getting within 1km of them.

Beans when you off the Sunset and Pipe. Although a mate just got back and said the last 2 weeks was pretty small bar a few days at Sunset.

Yep.
That's a problem even at Waikiki,

No. It happens even surfing at Waikiki.
I took off a good hundred metres from a Hawaiian guy and we never got closer than 50 metres. He still threatened to pulverize me.
Or do you mean riding a surfboard at Waikiki isn't surfing?
