Sounds like he scored ok. BOM was saying SW winds where I was earlier on, though was just straight south and blustery. Clean in the south corner but small, and bigger mush burgers up the beach

I'm getting suss on Carroll's calls now.

More weak 3ft S swell here.
Haven't seen any of those pulses he's mentioned.

I think he's just trying to torment me.

Was AJ as erudite and pithy as we all imagine him to be? Did he bring you an interesting pot plant as thanks?

Actually aj brought around four avocados from his tree at home so I think that’s fair.

Well, forget the writing, the political insights and the keen observations of surfing and its industry, the most impressive thing about Nick Carroll is that he makes a proper pot of loose leaf tea.

Today I noticed a guy chatting to another guy. They were clearly strangers. One paddled away. The one with the orange wetsuit and black gloves on a Sunova longboard paddled _towards_ me and tried to strike up a conversation. As soon as it started I realised why the other guy paddled down the beach. He told me a story of how he went out at North Point when he was younger with two mates and it was flat. Suddenly it spiked to 15-20' and the whole bay was closing out. His two friends were too scared of the barrel so they paddled in through the middle of the bay, leaving him to surf the barrels alone.

Did I just meet loofy?

Not only do they not use loose leaf tea, the youth of today don’t even drink tea!

Carbon neutral isn't even carbon neutral.
