Re: Where did you surf today ?
Well a certain back beach down black duck's way broke the drought for me this arvo on the low tide. Lully 2-3 with 4 foot sets, shutting down a bit but plenty of gems.
Godsave coming in like a whale wif knees. Omelette?
I'm just coming in to the Heart Attack Zone, combined with a pitiable rescue resume. I'm looking forward to checking the series out NC.

Glad something has finally kicked in. Be worth checking early tomorrow too with the giant tides. Be mid tide rising in the morning. What was aj’s take on it Wyre? I saw him kick out on a feeble left the other day like a mofo. Looked like he had plenty of pent up surf energy to release. Like a punk gnome thrashing a few chords on a dead guitar.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Oh yeah, he's raring to go! His kick outs have always been killer. He was in town buying groceries, so the anger should be building nicely.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Family are in town. So did sightseeing stuff. Which included a trek down to bulgo beach to check out the shack house community. Managed to fit in a quick bodysurf, mainly as an excuse to get in the water and try the new swim fins out.
Burgery mix of small but energetic wind blown swells with shifting take offs over a nearly dry bed of reef. The rights were strictly cheese grater material, so took the left that shouldered off into a slightly deeper keyhole section. The fins made all the difference, heaps more acceleration and earlier entry.

Went for a late bash. Onshore, crumbly with a thumping shallow inside close out to finish. Still had fun. Overcast and a bit cooler with pleasant water temp.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Excellent conditions yesterday. Bugger all chance of getting a wave with the number of people and number of close outs. Managed one good fast left that ended up draining the bank in front of the rocks at the south end. Had to land flat in a few inches of water. Should have paddled in straight away because that was it.
Today..... little, a bit choppy and too hot. Water was nice at 8:00am.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Right royally skunked this morning with a late afternoon reprieve.
Early this morning the south swell hit, the swell from that low that was just off the ice shelf a few days ago. After checking the surf I checked in with a surf bud and he was about to walk his high octane Kelpy cross Collie dog - fcuking skitz energy dog. Anyway, dog does the bolt on the beach so mate arrives at casa duck sans dog so we have to go looking for it because the fcuking ranger is around and it’s a $350 or so fine. We track down the dog about half an hour later fcuking about on the beach, meanwhile watching glassy head high rights reel off down the beach. Once the dog episode was over we go home to suit up. I link up with surf bud on the walk down to the beach and we start talking about what time the southerly is going to hit. Surf bud says casually, probably hit in 5 minutes. Just as we get to the beach, fcuk me if it didnt come true. We breached the bush track just in time to see the last offshore set reel down the bank , then the southerly hit and completely fcuked the surf in the 5 mins it took to cross the dune. We turned around and walked home, skunked.
In the afternoon however, the southerly died off so surf bud and I hit the island quick sticks and had it to ourselves for nearly an hour. Head high and well worth the paddle.

Great story Duck. I’ve never seen a ranger at north bendy and our dogs run around there all the time. Is that a new thing? Mind you I haven’t been down there for 18 months due to my GC move.

They’ve been around this holiday period booking people. It will settle down to business as usual very shortly.

BD, we got the Island a couple of times in the Thursday and Friday. Been years since I've been out there.
So much fun but what a fcukin circus! Maladjusted Malibu riders and SUP nightmares.
Good to hear you got it to yourself.

I'd be happy to take credit, but unfortunately it wasn't me.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Is the mal revival mainly due to:
the increasing average age of surfers
the increasing average age of when people start surfing
and a little bit of hipster retro thrown in?
