Woke up for a dawny at the Point with my wife.

There were van loads of euros hanging in the car park checking Magic Seaweed, which had majestically called , I dunno, seven and a half feet or something. Maybe 9 feet.
Surf Forecast had said 2 thousand kilojoules.

It was one foot rock break.

pretty much dead flat at every beach , or close enough to.

ended up at a Ballina swell/shark magnet. The main one was about 3 feet and had a million people out.
\
I surfed incon 2 with the odd 3 footer little ledge runners.

My wife declined the go out.

Astounding, but not really, when you looked at the size of that low and how little surf it produced.

The next one does more of the same, with a slightly better looking fetch. Hopefully it will avoid the hype of this last one.

Went the early and was uncrowded then.
A few morning of the mo hangovers I think. Going to hunt something out again now.

Yep it was going past the Coal Coast, I managed to get a couple of 3-4' at the break with the most kooks around here- which on this swell direction seems to be the biggest and most consistent.

Snagged a cracker, came down with plenty of speed and lo' ! The next section was about to throw over. Very unusual at this spot! I was locked in and getting hooted, felt so good, I knew I was gonna fly out of it until the beginner tried to get out of the way by paddling right in front of me.

I had to abort before I ran him over, we got tangled up as fcuk. He was profusely sorry. I was profusely bummed.

That was the only wave to barrel that I saw the whole session.

Seems to be muscling up a bit more with the tide now...

My best wave, I got deep on the ledge and was flying through when a hapless chick floundered into the wave and I had to take evasive action to avoid a collision.\\

no biggie.

5-6 foot of unruly but workable swell at cronulla beachies. Early entry, climb and drop speed runs all down the line.

? Surf Forecast for Lennox at 8am: 380 kilojoules, 4.5', period 11s, crossoff at 10mph = marginal surf conditions, ok if there's nothing better to do.

I was getting regular uncrowded waves (2-6 out) near ulus based on Surf forecasts like the above but with a wind change and jump to say, 600kJ from 11am until 2pm.

Just sat and watched it for half an hour, what a circus. It’s the new Manly. Heap of very inexperienced surfers out at the point, dropping in, chucking boards, paddling in front of riders. Urgh.

Kinda weird. I reckon it’s 4ft max over here. Curly was only that size. Bombies weren’t breaking at all. Maybe it’s the tide.

went back and surfed high tide rock break with my wife.
my best friend and his son were out, one other guy.

wife wasn't that keen on the high tide rock-off ....thats a marital disaster if it goes wrong.

sun came out, surf thickened up , about as good as rock break gets.

whale of a time.

Yep, high tide near 2 metres at around 10.30 and then down to 0.2 around 5 pm.

I was pushed for time today so couldn't head far, Mantown close to flat. Curlie looking ugly and DY was poor so went for the paddle anyway, point wasn't really breaking when I saw it, a goatboat, mals and shortboarders were out there. From surf club to at least poles was one long closeout, so ended up past poles trying to get a few corners. If I had more time, I would have tried further up the peninsula.
