Yeah, phew, I can go out now.
Good day yesterday, a bit wonky on the rising tide for my first surf, still quite a few double overhead sets. But the next surf on the falling tide had perfect conditions. I was with a mate and we always spur each other on.
Small (head high sets) today and wonky, offshore should clean it up soon. Supposed to be on the rise to double overhead plus.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Paddled out for a micro surf with the crowd. Mid to low. Sat wide and snared one right off. Got a few more doing the same thing. SUP paddles out and it gets more crowded. Kind of gave up and thought I'd paddle north to the next bank. SUP turns up again. Paddled further north then snared a little zipper that went right back through the pack and kept on going. That will do. Stoked.

*shakes head*
He knew he had to make it.
Putin warned him, 'do it for russia son - or else we have your wife and children, your parents and relatives, and your relatives relatives'
He just rode the biggest and longest wave ever at ulus. Look at the size of the face, just one cutback and i reckon he wouldn't have made it. No one else did.
I see it often on the bukit, you often just need the fastest line, giving in to cutting back often leads to failure further down the line.
Of course this sort of stuff just doesn't compare to north carolina offy, but its all they have on the bukit so there's a temptation to overcall and just do a safety run

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Of course. But it does look kinda 'slow and safe' out of context. In reality that little tow board was super fast, way faster then the guns

Slow? He was flying! And just the thrill of screaming along a massive face like that, and surviving, would do me. If I could drive a car at 240kmh an hour, I'm pretty sure I'd be taking a straight line.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
How many places in the world do you think could give you a ride that long and fast on a wave that size?
Not many.
Not many.
