I don’t care what cranked uses. If it’s working for him, so be it. What pictures? And tuflites are rubbish. And if they’re working for him, so be that.marauding mullet wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 1:14 pmI just don’t get why anyone gives a shit what Cranked uses. I think it’s really just a case of internet trolls trying pass themselves off as old guard self appointed surfing experts to massage their egos.Hatchnam wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 10:50 amOver 30 years of surfing and have never yet once had to think about not rely upon “kilojoules” to figure out what’s going with conditions. Pretty sure that’s the same for about 99.9999% of the global surfing community. There’s only one forecasting site using the measurement. Try find another. There isn’t. That in itself tells you all you need to know. It’s to be giggled and guffawed at mercilessly.
Surfing for over 30years? I’ve been surfing for 55 years and only ever used the little black and white map of Aust.in the newspaper for most of it, until recently. So what?
This continued obsession with Cranked and pictures of him and his wife in Bali, his choice of surfboard construction and now this, is going to get someone a TOTY.
I have zero concern for cranked. I’m saying the kJ measurement is superfluous. irrespective of whether or not there’s any science to it. Swell height-direction-period-fetch should be enough to go off to gauge size/power. If not, then surely by now, kJ would be mainstream. Or at the very least be used somewhere else as well, not just forecast-surf dot com or whatever it is
