13-14 feet with 16 feet bombs.
So that bomb boo posted of Ramon is 16 ft? I would say it's gigantor, Iggy scale.
That one would be closer to 23ft.

I saw his wave. Was a pretty good one, paddle in.
He's been surfing restaurants too.

Yes he can do what he wants, but I'd prefer if he dropped the bullshit.

I don't begrudge him skipping an event he wouldn't do well at to surf perfect CB. Far from it. In his position I would've started skipping events years ago.
But they can't give him an INJ for the event. That's not fair to whatever young QS bloke with a ridiculous name is knocking on the door of qualification.

Imagine how John John most be feeling watching his Instagram feed blowing up, knowing that he can't win the title because they cancelled his best non-Pipe event, and he's stuck surfing a wave that can't handle 6ft.

Kelly Slater. Someone needs to write a critique on that guy.

Soulless narcissist sociopath or surfings greatest ever asset?

He's just a fcuken human being mate.

Surfing's driven him mad in a very particular and unlikely to be repeated manner.

Like - as far as I know there's only a very small handful of great surfers who have not been driven mad by surfing:

MR
Simon Anderson (nearly but avoided it)
Gerry Lopez

(thinks) that might be it.

We should have some degree of sympathy for all the others, if you've got fully committed to surfing and really gone there with it, you will know what it is like to get close to madness. That is the actual feeling only a surfer knows, in the famed statement/subtitle.

Like you are not supposed to have those kinds of experiences. They are too good, too overwhelming.

I liked seeing Kelly at Cloudbreak without the fully shaved dome. He looked more remarkable paddling into big CB with his natural middle-aged male pattern baldness displayed. I'd like to see him let it grow till he got the full mad professor look going. He would look awesome as he fiddled with his wave pool and occasionally came out to brilliantly surf the best reef breaks on the planet.

Well it's probably not meant to happen. It's too unreal.

What about Banksy Nick? He usually seems sane, but is that just the thin veneer of sanity.

He thought it was the end Sunday night at the bombie, but he survived, just.

He reckons he's got one last great Indo classic left discovery in him and its the best of them all, mythical and perfect, the long left where goofys go to die.
